Another banger fitzy brother. 🔥. That cat fish had me in stitches 🤣. How big they get. Only found it funny because the carp that get treated like trash fish in amrica you treat them so well man the soft release. When it came to the cat that mofo would have got the olimpic gold for that dive hahaha. 😅. Cracking mate 👌. Hopefully next year or so I can get myself some amrican carp. 🎉🎉
@AmericanCarpAngler Жыл бұрын
Haha gave him a 9.8 on that dive Spoony 🤣. The channels cats don't get very big. Most average 5-10 pounds, but the state record is 37 pounds I believe. Where abouts might you be heading to in the states next year? I hope you make the trip happen! I think you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Good session Fitzy, that 21lber was a lovely fish. Definately give the Garlic powder a go, i use it in my 'stick mixes' with a little salt and black pepper. Oh and maybe try some chilli powder that can work a treat. love that 3 Rivers spot. thanks for the upload my friend, take care and Tight Lines from Mark in England.

You can switch out to garlic or even add it. Remember that jello, gelatin, has amino acids in it that the carp detect too. It isn't just the flavoring and color. Packbait is inexpensive enough that you can make test batches and not have much to lose. Fish the new batch, and if nothing for a couple hours, go back to the traditional bait and see if they switch on for it.
@AmericanCarpAngler Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight James and I plan to experiment with some different packbait recipes in the near future. Also want to try playing with some boilie recipes.

Another really good day of carp fishing there Fitzy. Wonder what that guy in the red boat was fishing for, looked like he seen you catching fish and decided to camp out in front of you for a while. You were definitely showing him how it was done. Fat Cat there at the end. Good stuff !
@AmericanCarpAngler Жыл бұрын
Thanks Don! I think the guy in the boat was bass fishing. He wouldn't leave, camping out in front of me and the guy next to me. Lots of water but I guess he needed to fish the stuff right in front of me lol.

I have been using 48 oz. oats, 1 large pack strawberry jello, 2 tsp of Anise extract, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 2 cans of cream corn that I blend in my blender (extra creamy) with two cloves of garlic. It has worked great for Brazos river carp and channel cats with my home made boilies and or tiger nuts
@AmericanCarpAngler6 ай бұрын
I may try adding some vanilla extract to my next batch. Thanks for the recipe Ray 👍

Tried garlic powder exactly once. Couldn’t stand the smell of it on my hands! Glad to find someone carp fishing in nearby waters. I’ve got to get out there sometime. Picked up the carp bug from Outside Tom and have yet to find good water locally.

Garlic definitely has a strong smell 🤣 I actually made some homemade garlic boilies and tried them the other day. Gor my first mirror and a nice 24 pounder with them. Outside With Tom is a Great channel. Where abouts are you located Mike?

Awesome video again fitzmagic are those tiger nuts strawberry from Wicked carp company? Looks like a great spot to fish love all the videos Man. Love how you take care of the carp also.

Thanks so much Allen and I greatly appreciate your support. The tiger nuts I grabbed off of Amazon. Some cheap Chinese knockoff brand but they have been pretty effective and seem good quality. I'll locate them and put a link down below.

I just looked up my past orders. I bought these tiger nuts back in April of 2022 and they are from Wicked Carp Company. But unavailable on Amazon as of now. That's a bummer. Guess I'll have to go straight to their website.

Thanks so much Daniel. And it's funny you should ask, because I'm out carp fishing today and I caught my 1st mirror ever this morning. Yoi must have brought me some good luck. I'm pretty pumped as it was on my bucket list. I knew we had some in the waters I fish but not many. So it was pretty cool finally catching one. Thanks again 👍

@AmericanCarpAngler I was thinking the same thing, I know some guys that have been adding chili powder or hot sauce to deter catfish, don't know how well that helps.

Does it matter if you use quick oats or old fashioned oats in your pack bait? Everyone else uses old fashioned,
@AmericanCarpAngler11 ай бұрын
I use both but I feel like the quick oats packs and stays on the method lead a little bit better/longer. That it doesn't fall off too easy, where you might be losing some on the cast or on its way down to the bottom. Just kind of what I've observed. But like I said, I use both and catch fish on both so....

You got any tips on catching carp on big rivers?
@AmericanCarpAngler Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty new to fishing for em but I Iike to find flats to throw to or a channel or bowl that is near vegetation. Or maybe a bend area in the river where the current slows down and there's some vegetation. I usually use a 1.75 oz lead but something heavier might work better in current. Kind of a guessing game for me sometimes.
