Some lakes I fish, turtles will clean off real corn in 10 minutes or less; so I have to use plastic corn if I want to keep a bait in the water. Even so, sometimes the turtles will still manage to bite it off or sever the hair. One thing I like about fall and winter is the reduced--not eliminated--activity of the turtles!
