My amplifier is not working properly, but i had no idea how to check that. I thought i have to remove all the covers behind the seats but thanks to your video, it seems like I won't have to do unnecessary works. It's surprisingly easy to remove that cover and i don't know why i was so worried about that lol Thanks again!

That was my v6, I have sold it now as I have an svr and retrofitted the 10” screen giving me carplay

I saw another video with the bosch unit and they needed to take the entire screen and mid console out, in this video you only seem to put in some wiring between the seats. Am I correct in thinking the harman system is much easier to install? I have the meridian sound system, is that harman or bosch? Or just have to take the panel out and look for black or grey?

Yes I think the Bosch is more complex, just check between the seats to see which you have

Hey, great video! I have a 2014 F Type S. I dont have the control unit behind the glovebox like on your car. My car just has an extra storage box that swings open. Do you know where i could find the computer that controls the screen and speakers on my car so i can get carplay too? Thanks!

@@philscars The cover between the seats is just stuck in. In my F Type Cabriolet from 2016 there is a storage compartment. Unfortunately you can't just pull it out, I assume you have to remove the entire cover behind the seats? Best regards from Germany, Tom

Will this work on 2015 F-type? Infotainment looks little different.

Pre face lift all had the same front screen but 2 different back ends, Harmon kardon (mine) or Bosch. Units are available for both types

They have different user interfaces if you google it, it will show you the difference!

Can you please advise if the previous setting (either Android Auto or Carplay) returns to the screen after the car has been switched off or do you have to hold the home button down again?

i have a 2018 convertible and the rear cover does not come off, it is part of the whole rear assembly. Has anyone done that upgrade on a 2018?

Great vid, I have just installed the same unit in my 2016 coupe. My rear camera not activating on reverse but sensors etc do... any ideas?

Hmm maybe some of the dip switch settings need changing? Mine worked fine

Thanks for replying, I did a full factory reset of the unit from the home menu on the car play unit - I then disconnected it for 30 minutes, powered it up again, re connected the phone by Bluetooth and everything now works as it should. Transforms the car - thanks again

Have just done the same, and Android Auto works, but I get no sound when playing music. The music still plays from the phone. Any ideas?

Haven’t got an android phone I’m afraid so I cannot help you

Sounds like (no pun intended) you probably need to go into your phone settings and check you can play music over Bluetooth, it's probs something silly like that 👍

The solution was to return the cheap ebay unit, and replace with one of the IDCORE units. Works perfectly now 👌
