I did UK 3.0 as a base then topped with SIC with Excellent results. Almost 9 months in with a DD that lives outside. Dealth with a harsh Canadian winter.

If you liked Reload, give NV Car Care JET a try. It's easier to apply & remove and it's more hydrophobic and has longer lasting durability. I would say 5 to 6 months at least if coupled with their BOOST quick detailer/drying aide, especially the way you keep your vehicles. And the great thing about JET is that it's just as hydrophobic as a ceramic coating (or better) so it really doesn't mask the hydrophobic characteristics of the base layer coating(s) at all. It's by far the very best "sacrificial" layer to a ceramic coating on the market at this particular time until a company creates something even better which will be a while because these products are just so darned good. The "one-two punch" is using both NV Car Care LUSTRE, allow that to cure 24 hours and then apply NV Car Care JET. Lustre has the look of a wax, very deep shine, higher resin content. JET is the superpower of hydrophobic ceramic spray products. Maintain them with NV Car Care BOOST (which is also a high silica type of product so it's the perfect drying aide and tops up the hydrophobics to maximum every single wash). I am pretty sure you will love the combination. It is incredible and could probably extend your coating indefinitely. I apply the Lustre/Jet combo sparingly with one of those new "Saver" applicators from Autofiber that have that plastic barrier inside so it doesn't soak up the product as much and keeps it on the surface of the applicator for the most part. Those two bottles (Lustre/Jet) would easily last 3 years applied every six months sparingly. Get a liter of BOOST (which is phenomenal also and reasonably priced for the level the product is, which is superior to others and I have used a LOT of them over the years) and you can use that as your drying aide after every wash. BOOST flashes well, wipes off well, plays fairly well in the sun (although I apply it in my garage normally, but not always) and I am pretty confident you will absolutely love that combo over your coating. I also use a lot of Polishangel Products which are some of my favorites of all time but I am switching everything over to NV Car Care products as I need them because they work just as well or better and are a better value. I've been detailing for over 40 years and at this time, this combo may be the very best there is. The only other products I have used at the level of hydrophobics the Lustre/Jet/Boost have are Polishangel Spray Coating Maintenance Products, Viking Spritz (The one I currently have and use), Cosmic Spritz, and High Gloss. Polishangel products are like an addiction but the downside to them, they are some of the most expensive on the market across the entire world. But, the old saying is true with all of these products "You get what you pay for".

Carpro Gliss on tip of UK is really nice. Reload is good though. For me, I liked the Optimum Gloss Coat you had.

I have to times cquartz with gliss on top and reload on top of the top 😁 i need sunglasses to protect my eyes to look at my silver metallic car 😂

Would you say the Audi R8 is a car that you could do basic maintenance and some mechanical repairs in your garage?

Yes you absolutely can do that yourself on the car. Major items of course will need a specialist.

Just got a 100ml bottle to apply over my ceramic coating (in conjunction with carpro rest). Question, how much product did you have left after 1 application? I'm kind of wishing I went with the 500ml bottle. I guess I'm wondering if I'll have enough to do 2 or 3 application (once every 3 months or so)

I used about a third of the bottle and found I can still do 2 more full applications!

Do you recommend applying 99% alcohol before applying the Reload?

Do not apply any alcohol to put on reload. All you want to do is wash the vehicle and apply it on top of the ceramic on clean paint.
