Great video Pan! Always enjoy them. I've actually switched from UK 3.0 to the CQuartz Original. Have used UK 3.0 on dozens of cars, usually topping with Gliss. The Original is slicker just like Gliss right of out the box. Customers seem to really like that. Maybe this SiC will replace Gliss and not Original and provide a little more longevity, as you might have notice Gliss can wear off pretty quick if a customer uses car washes a lot. Dear Pan, I have used it combining with other products of carpro. Mayby an idea or if you have comments, please let me know. Wash the car, decon it, clay, prep and polish. Afterwards carpro essence using the carpro gloss pad. Gives another tiny bit of cutting, swirl filling, gloss enhancer and a base for the ceramic coating. Had better results, in my opinion, by first applying Sic and then UK. It gives the slickness of Sic and the more durabilty of UK. Then protected it with Essence +, again using the carpro gloss pad. Which gives even a lot more gloss. Then topped it with Reload. In my opion a great result. With Kind regards from a small detailer in Belgium. Last but not least, I like your channel.

@PanTheOrganizer4 жыл бұрын
I have applied it to a few test vehicles absolutely. I like to follow the progress and durability over months before drawing final conclusions in my head. Typically, you want to use the bottle maximum 1 year after opening it. And for the majority of chemicals, shelf life is 1 to 2 years if unopened, and kept in stable conditions (i.e. non freezing).

If by "dealer applied" you mean the cheap crap they use at car dealerships before they deliver a brand new car to a customer, I would stay away from that! In fact, when I buy a new car every three years, I make it clear to the sales rep that I only want the car to be washed so I can inspect it on delivery. No waxes, no sealants on the paint, no interior dressing, no tire dressing, NOTHING. I want to bring it home and detail it myself.

Hi Pan, always been a fan of CarPro, I am gonna try 303 Graphine and see how it compares to the CP. CarPro has been very consistent with their quality and ease of use. Sorry kind of a commercial
@PanTheOrganizer4 жыл бұрын
Just to be clear, full blown ceramic coatings like CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 are far superior to spray on protection. 303 Graphene Spray Coating will last 10-12 months, compared to CQuartz that will last 2+ years. You can’t really compare both as they are different categories. If you liked CQuartz, you should stick with it. 👍🏻

Hi Pan. I get your point, on putting on 2 coats of the CQUARZ 3.0, then suggesting a coat of the SIC? I would surmise, most of us, want to get the paint ready, for a ceramic coating, without having to put 3 coats on, and having to buy 2 products? I’d love to be able to prep the paint, and add one great coat, or maybe 2, but 3 is going into the excessive boundaries, no? Can you recommend one, that would protect, and have great gloss, and hydrophobic tendencies? Thanks👍

There are other alternatives now that are one layer coatings, that can still offer many years of protection. Here's a video on one of them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5W4Zoupfbmdbbs And if you have a bigger budget, and want a one layer coating, check out my video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJu3XquGZtyMj9U

Good morning... Love your channel. Great info, and enjoyable to watch. I'm taking your advice and will be topping Cquartz UK 3.0 (2 coats) with Cquartz SIC. How long after applying the 3.0 should I wait to apply the SIC? I work rather slowly so I'm looking for an acceptable range. I've read some wait 24 hrs between each of the 3 coats and others say 45 to 60 minutes between each. It'll be my first time ceramic coating, Thank you
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
As it's not something officially supported by CarPro, it's a lot of trial and error. One thing is for sure, you apply the first layer of CQuartz UK 3.0, wait 45-60 minutes, then apply the second layer. Then, wait 3 to 4 hours, and apply the layer of SiC. Wait 24 hours without exposing the vehicle to water or rain. Wait a full 14 days before washing the car.

@@PanTheOrganizer Unfortunately I'm way too slow at the application process to get two coats done anywhere close to that time. It took me a few hours to do my first coat. Tight space in my garage and I've got to move my lights around for all four sides. Two different types of products. The Adam's is also way more expensive. And it's still too new to the market, nobody was able to test for many years yet. But on paper, if you want the longest lasting, it should be the Adam's. If you want the easiest to apply, best price, and still get 2 years of protection, the CQUK 3.0 is the one.

Pan, Would it possible for you to do a full paint prep, application, and finish process, comparing AvalonKing Armorshield IX with CarPro SIC? Would be really curious to see how these are processed, and the final result, side by side? I have used CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 on my E class (prepped all required steps), and was very disappointed, the chemical evaporated way too fast and had to use more than usual, and worst part, it did not leave a slick feeling like AvalonKing when I used it on my GLE. Great fan of your videos, Pan! I have a question on SiC...given that there is "carbide" was there any noticeable difference in the hardness of this coating?
@PanTheOrganizer4 жыл бұрын
What do you mean "hardness"? There is no way to really measure that on paintwork. It's a ceramic coating, like the other CarPro coatings. The formulation is different, but the end result is similar to the touch, just more slickness compared to UK 3.0

@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no brand can give you tips to apply coatings in direct sunlight, as all of them specifically mention not to do that. So you do this at your own risk. If you have to apply it outside that's fine, but do it in the shade, on a cool surface, and wait until the end of the day, when it's not blazing hot like at noon. Also, make sure you cover the vehicle after application if you think it might rain during the 24 hours of curing required by most coatings. Do things the right way. Do not apply a true coating in direct sunlight.

I don't wear masks in videos as it prevents the sound from coming out good from my mouth (sound quality).
