Your honesty is very much appreciated. I also definitely agree that some of these things should be baked into the set instead of having people pay more to add on. In this day and age Bluetooth SHOULD be included when a set costs over $500 to start with.

The pit lane can create some more competitive solo racing with ghost cars. You will need to pit but they do not. Great video

Thank You for your honest review. This is the reason I decided to get Scalextric over Carrera. Their are a lot of KZbinr pushing Carrera digital over Scalextric digital.

Subbed! Many thanks for your honest and no b.s. reviews. Back in '67-'68 we had an Eldon set; what fun. ~ early 2000s a Scalextric set...after researching, there's a Carrera 30031 - RETRO GRAND PRIX on the way. To me, the "ghost car" and lane change bits look like a lot of fun. Bob

I do want to add that after a few months of disassembly and reassembly, the pieces are starting to fit together better. But for what this stuff costs, the pieces should fit together properly from day 1.

Looking at the joints in the track sections, and the fact that the tracks are now fitting together properly, I would suggest the original problem was the metal tags that protrude at one end of each power rail being too tight to fit into the female end of the connecting rail in the next section of track, and they have now become squeezed a little closer and fit together properly

It's very clear from the video that you haven't fitted the parts good enough. There are big gaps in each end, that shows this. The connections might be tight, but if you press the parts together properly, this won't be an issue any longer. So I believe the salesman when he says they are not used, because this is a typical issue to new parts.

They won't push together properly. No amount of force will seat them. The piece with the word "Fuel" on it is not the same length as the other pieces. I've had several people reach out to me on Facebook confirming similar issues with their pit lanes. It's a known issue.

Though I think any addition to a slot car track is a good one. That way you can choose, if you wanna play with pit lanes or not.

Just Sub'ed ya brother! I got the Bull & Horse + Race ta Victory, I must agree. You do not need the pit lanes to have a lot of fun, but like you I will grab & put into my track. Happy racing brother 👍 #slotcarsareback

Ngl I would save up to buy a new pit lane, cause you going to dislike the gap eventually.Youur gonna half to wait till summer, but you’ll like it more.

The gaps can go away. They fit super tight, but you can do it WITHOUT tools. Why do you even like the hobby if your going critique everything negatively? Your views are more cons than pros.

Maybe that's more of an inditement against the low standards of quality and value-for-money among rank-and-file slot car enthusiasts, eh? I paid for this stuff out of my own pocket, and I'm under no obligation to praise mediocrity or shill for manufacturers and retailers who are ripping off consumers. I've received plenty of feedback from other racers confirming that Carrera's digital track pieces don't seat into analog pieces properly because of the sensor housing. I'm not here to make you or anyone else feel good, and if you plan to watch my next slot car-themed review, you might want to change your Pampers first.

"why do you like something if you have negative criticism about it" is a pretty childish take
