Go when it's not busy. Walk across when no-one else is, then you can walk without holding the "handrails" (ropes) - if you don't hold these the bridge tends to swing from side to side more than it otherwise would, and bounce up and down a bit more, so it's more fun. Once across, go straight and then to your right and look back at the mainland; there's a large cave down by the water on the mainland the interior walls of which look almost luminescent.😊

I have walked across several times, and as a Travel Agent I send clients. They bridge is the easy part, it is the steps going down to it.

It was a blast!!!! However, I stopped every couple of feet and filmed around me as well because not only is it fun to look down, but the sights to the left and right are breathtaking as well.

I've crossed it three times and enjoyed it each time, even in the thunderstorm and I would cross it again! Can't wait to go over to Ireland again!

The views and scenery, it was beautiful. We were there in 2019. But I never looked down when crossing it, just straight ahead. Some guy stopped in the middle to take pictures, everyone behind him was yelling for him to move...

This one I could probably do. When I was growing up we had a swinging bridge that kids used as a shortcut to the high school, it crossed the creek and was not put together well as it had missing boards and everytime I got on it there was some nasty little shit that rocked it back and forth and it was all I could do not to fall to my knees and puke. lol This one looks sturdy and thankfully is reinforced with boards. Oh and it doesn't look like it swings back and forth. lol

I remember from my childhood in the late 60's.. I was around 6 or 7 yrs old...mom divorced my bio "father" and *mom,* *4-brothers* *and* *myself,* we all moved from *Indianapolis,* *Ind.* to *my* *mom's* *family* *home* in *Eastern* *Kentucky* *(Leburn)...* Mom rented this furnished (how they ever furnish that house, I have no idea) house up in the mountains for real cheap and the only access we had (that I can remember) from the road/our driveway to the house was this swinging bridge, it was between 15' to 20' feet long and about 2' to 3' feet wide.. My brothers and I loved that bridge...now mom, not so much.. But, now days there is no way in hell🔥would I ever attempt to cross that or any other swinging bridge at my age....NOPE (popping my P) it ain't-gonna happen.. So apparently my brothers and I were to dumb and young to understand the dangers of that bridge....because now that think about it, that bridge...it wasn't that great in shape.. I can understand why mom yelled at us for running across that bridge...

My family and I will be visiting the bridge in July. Once you cross the bridge, how much more of a trail is there on the other side? About how much time do you need to hike the trail on the other side of the bridge? Thanks for your help.
