Carrie almost killed me. On some HBO special she said something like "... then my father married Betty Lin, a businesswoman from China ... which was perfect because he'd had so many plastic surgeries at that point, he LOOKED Asian." I choked on my breakfast cereal. And it was SHREDED WHEAT. I'm lucky to still be here!

She gave an interview on Graham Norton in London before returning to the states to promote the last film and said she was approached to reprise her role but the director told her; only if you lose 30lbs. Well rhe best Hollywood diet is with a substance . She lost the weight never saying how. On the way back she died on the flight. She had illicit substances found on autopsy in her toxicology it is on the autopsy report. You can only do so much of that as it can affect the heart. Her mom's heartbreak was fatal. Her son reported she said" I want to be with Carrie" then suffered a fatal stroke.😢

Carrie Fisher was so dedicated to her mother Debbie Reynold, despite their time not speaking to each other, remained closer than any friend I know by living next door to her mother to watch over her. Carrie Fisher independent nature became a strong hold for Debbie Reynolds as she aged and were next door relatives. It is amazing the love they each have for each other. I pray for both of these magnificent ladies and may God Bless both of them. Carrie Fisher's daughter will continue their legacy. AMEN

One of the saddest things about Carrie's death was when her mother wanted to die too- and then SHE died! How sad for Todd for her to choose death rather than stay with him. I guess she thought she could look after Carrie even in death. The world lost ywo lovely souls. Rest in Peace ladies.

I remember the time when Carrie and Paul got married. It was reported on Entertainment Tonight, which was still in its infancy and VERY popular. Charles Grodin made a comment that he was the only sober (and not high) person there. It wasn't reported before their marriage but I remember its being reported that she'd lost a baby due to a miscarriage. I NEVER hear about that these days.

In the movie Shampoo you'd never know she was 17. She could've easily passed for 22-24 and spoke to Warren Beatty like she was a 40-year-old.

There's more to this life and what lies beyond than most of us know. My mother would, on rare occasions, dream of a horse. She'd mention it and every time we'd get news of a relative dying. Once she dreamed she played a specific number and she won some money. She wrote the number down and won 300 marks (a decent amount back then).

I don't think Debbie Reynolds was that vain. Debbie loved Carrie very much and not to have her next to her, as they lived as neighbors made things worse to be next door to the house that belonged to Carrie and not see her was too much for Debbie. I would say, Debbie checked out.

I’m sad to read these comments about Carrie Fisher. She was thrust into the spotlight too young and she even had to give up educational opportunities to satisfy the demands of Hollywood. I wonder if anyone ever told her that she was brilliant, creative, intelligent, and deserved better. The depression must have been soul crushing. She never really saw a normal romantic relationship growing up and she was not prepared for the kind of emotional work needed to maintain a healthy relationship. I’m a die hard James Blunt fan, and he was devastated by her death. He wrote his first number one song on the piano in her bathroom. He also wrote songs to let her know how much she meant to him. They were great friends in the end and she had just visited him and his wife before she died. I truly believe that she was trying to prepare him for her death. I know Debbie died the next day, but I feel that her death should not diminish the importance and grief of Carrie’s passing. Carrie’s light shown brightly and her life was precious and important in her own right. I pray that she is finally healing and resting in peace. May God bless her troubled soul. ❤

Love her ! She is always genuine, bright, and so funny. If I could be friends with one celebrity, she would be the one! I am horrified that others think "substance abuse" defines her, when from all she said her fabulous qualities were interlocked with a mind that worked differently and made life difficult for her. Those who have never struggled with this, cannot possibly understand how the "ordinary peace" most take for granted was unattainable for her ever active, over active mind. She was such a gift to all of us because of who she was, with the clever mind spilling into every part of her life.
@Sparks_Alive
@Sparks_Alive Ай бұрын
Yes it wasn’t the substance-abuse that contributed to her bright mind- it was the bipolar. My mother has it and quite wild ride it has been. Very much like Carrie Fisher. But my mother didn’t take drugs. Very creative people often have mental illness and feel life very deeply a psychiatrist told me. It is why there are many that are artists, writers, etc . They feel the highs and the lows very deeply, and are very sensitive. But the anxiety or the mania is just off the charts and yes, it is very hard with a very active mind to find any peace at all. It’s a very destructive illness. There’s a reason why people tend to become addicted, and my mother was an exception. They are trying to get their mind to settle down. Interestingly I was told that often the drugs that calm most people down can sometimes make bipolar worse depression or mania.

Seems fitting her brother discovered the terrible yet mysterious note. Perhaps the golden bikini pronounced another missed fact. Carrie Fisher was our real life genie in a bottle. Who can forget her Blues Brothers role of jilted lover? Calmly painting her nails in drivers seat of a mid 1970s New Yorker. Carefully leafing thru the army manual for a US Army flamethrower! Thank You Carrie for the laughter. 😂

Wow, I find her preoccupation with her own death to be fascinating! I guess she probably thought about it a lot with all of the harrowing times she went through// she seems like the kind of smart girl to be existential. I don’t think she had existential dread though, if anything it seems like she had a sense of humor about it and was perfectly at peace with knowing she would one day pass.

Right off the bat, I want to protest in the strongest terms, there is no such thing as Hollywood royalty!! Sound minded people are tired of this silly comparison. They are entertainers only! The actual “Industry of entertainment “ is fraught with some of the most dysfunctional, low character, and self promoting people on the planet. Please, show some insight. Also, one of the most poignant things in Carrie’s life, is that her mother, Debbie Reynolds, died of a stroke the very next day, having stated to Todd, “I don’t want to go on without Carrie.”

Was. (?) With respect: i have not viewed more from this creator to know whether your criticism is accurate- That this 'Photo Problem' ie: showing photos that are irrelevant or of the wrong visage etc, within her video, is a regular feature, etc.

I Drove Debbie Reynolds on her last bus tours that ended in Miami Florida! What a wonderful Woman! I told her that she was my American Queen! Anyhow from what I gathered, Carrie had always given Debbie a difficult time with everything but Debbie never abandoned her because of it! Also that Debbie had to go back to work,and was doing this tour because her son Todd had Gambled away most all of her money! That's what I gathered from Debbie's makeup girls and handlers! So believing that to be True I don't believe ONE WORD THAT TODD WOULD EVER HAVE TO SAY! JUST MY OPINION! AND I DO HAVE PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF OF THE TOUR! RiP Debbie and Carrie!❤
