People forget, all Idol did was open the musical door for Carrie. And Carrie took care of the rest. Idol went from pop competition before Carrie to all genre competition. Carrie proved that any person from any type of music could win it.

Mark Bright, her former producer answered that question. How Carrie can sound the same on a record as her performance live. Simple, she does both the same way, in the studio and doing concert. She doesn't use autotuned at all. As matter of fact, she forbids it.

Carrie is the true country embodiment. Like her superstar country idols,(Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Reba)they believe in giving power to the song and not fancy pyrotechnics and endless dance moves. This is country music at its best, not Pop, not rock. Not like Brittney Spears concert or Janet Jackson.

Oh, by the way to Rebecca Williams, yes, my friend got completely surprised that we had gotten her a ticket to Carrie's concert in Green Bay. I bought her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Carrie Underwood t-shirt for the concert. She was 16 on that day, and her friends were bugging her until I told her she was going and as they were going by, they were like darn, she is going. No kids were told that plan.

Actually, I think the opposite, the fact that Carrie can just stand and sing and Kelly has move around, proves that Carrie is the better singer. All Carrie needs her vocals for getting attention, whereas Kelly needs to move around to get attention. Carrie doesn't any special effects, whereas Kelly does.
