Not the reason, she was advised not to release it as her first single. Country radio didn't want Carrie have it period, Idol winner shouldn't release this song and her label said go ahead and do it. And fans took it from there. Country radio was so pissed, that fans demand they play it. Radio was given a simple choice, play it or lose listeners. They couldn't afford at the time, Carrie came out to lose listeners, so they play it.

This song was playing on the radio when my wife got into a car accident with my three month old son in the backseat. The back glass shattered into the backseat my son was in the rear facing car seat. Somehow he did not have a scratch on him.

My hubby was hit head on by a car going the wrong way on the Interstate. I was told he died twice before he got to the Hospital, both ankles were crushed like powdered sugar. He had to have bones from his hips infused with his ankles and was told he would likely never walk on his own again. I hit my knees and told the Lord I had no idea what to do. He had a good paying job so that I could work if I wanted but basically only worked fun jobs I liked. I kept praying, and listening for answers. My hubby is a stubborn man and he relentlessly worked on his legs. I found a small cafe out of business and started a new business, which turned quite successful very quick. Hubby made the coffee and tea and then would sit with the patrons, people got to calling him the Mayor of our town. Long Story short He walked without any help, We had a successful business, We found the blessings the Lord heaped upon us by choosing to listen. The greatest GIFT and the greatest CURSE God gave mankind was freewill. We can choose how we proceed in life, with his help or not.

When I was 6 my mom and I got in a flip over car accident, we were driving home from the beach and the front passenger tire blew out and the car started spinning, we got to the side of the expressway and started rolling, my moms hand went out the window and the car was rolling on her hand and she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt, the car landed on its roof and people pulled over and yanked on doors to get the doors open and one finally opened, they got us out, my mom didn’t have a single broken bone and just had a bloody knee, I didn’t have a single scratch or bruise, my mom said Jesus was in the car with us that night.

This song was written by a friend of mine who was inspired by an incident that broke our local community's collective heart. A very well known, well loved and well respected local musician was on his way home in a snow storm, and a plow/sanding truck wasn't paying the most attention to what he was doing. The local musician hit a patch of salt, spun out and ended up flying off the road and into the ocean. It's a beautifully heartbreaking song that has an even more insanely heartbreaking backstory.

THIS one gets me.. my ex bf whom I was BLESSED enough to have stayed very close with, sadly passed away at the age of 23, because he hit black ice. PJ's car actually flipped and landed on his neighbor's lawn ! He was NOT drinking ! His father heard the crash and went outside to see what happened...
