Imagine if this was a commercial channel. It would be twice as long, with a quarter of the information, delivered by twice as much talking. Seems simple, find the right interviewer (well qualified, interested, courteous), ask the right people the right questions, and….listen to their answer. Another great interview, another great interviewee. This channel rarely misses, this one was another direct hit. Well done Ward, another must see!

During the birth of "affirmative action" and Vietnam was winding down, I miraculously placed top ten in my entry exams for the Airforce academy. My older friends returning from same theater literally beat-me-down for entertaining the thought. Long story short, I never realized a boyhood dream. 71yrs old now, I long vicariously thru your stories... in awe of my fellow American warriors... and an honor to live under the safety net provided by our military services. Thnx4 your service gentleman...

Mooch, these interviews with the SG commander, IKE CO, and CAG have been fantastic. Given the nature of what IKESG was faced with during this deployment, I hope you are able to line up similar interviews with the two Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) warfare commanders (Sea Combat Commander (SCC) and Area Air Defense Commander (AADC)) as well. The perspective from the commodore's destroyers and the cruiser CO as AADC are obviously relevant.

Ever since I was a child I wanted to join the NAVY and fly fighters but unfortunately all throughout my life different people would tell me I'm either too short (I'm not 5'6"....) or that because I wore glasses I couldn't fly. I thought this through my entire years as a young adult and I'm disappointment at those who I saw as role models in my younger years for not supporting my dreams. I say this because if this channel was around when I was a kid in the 90's things would be very different and who knows maybe I'd be someone being interviewed. I thank you so much Mooch for creating this channel and being the role model that I didn't have for a whole new generation of aviators. Keep kicking ass! And don't forget about the kids thinking about joining up to fly!

Very smart and motivated individuals. Being in a military setting, you don't have all the distractions and bs that civilian life comes with. A lot more discipline, and much harsher penalties for failure or fuckups. I'm not a vet, but if I sometimes wish I was just so I could have seen how far I could actually push myself. Most civilians don't think like that, settle for less, and make these remarkable people look even better. Thanks for reading my rant, gobbless
@tommaxwell429Ай бұрын
@@Asspiss100 I served in the US Navy. Believe me, there are lots of BS distractions in every aspect of the military. But I get your point. They are highly focused on what they do. While they are learning their skills they are being paid and generally provided a comfortable life. Unlike civilians who are tasked with paying for everything while trying to learn a skill or trade.

Excellent interview! Even given the UNCLAS limitations, very informative as all your interviews are. You are an excellent interviewer, you also benefit from the fact that your interviewees are well informed, well spoken Naval Officers. To pickup on CAG Scott’s assertion that ships (CVN’s) can go anywhere Command Authority directs. He does say that his aircraft and the Group’s escort ships need POL. As of this morning (09/24/24) the Middle East sole US Navy Oiler, USNS Big Horn, is OOC due to a possible grounding. Hopefully she can be repaired and returned to her support duties. Presently, closest replacement oilers are in the Med, with a second oiler off of Singapore.
