Carrier Infinity System Complete Review

So this is my personal HVAC system I had installed in Late 2017. I wanted to wait to review it till it had a chance to run in the Summer and winter. So it was worked fantastically and I wanted to let others know exactly how the system is and what it can do. When I was originally looking for reviews I was not able to find any that had any real detail. So here is my compete review on this unit. Hope it helps someone else to understand exactly what they might be looking for.

@@LadariusCapersOfficial We are pleased with it. Quite as can be. As for efficiency is has been hard to guage because there is definitely a learning curve. We also had our system zoned. Setting temps and fan speed has been a learning curve. We also got hit with weeks of over 100 degree temps. That behind said, our home was very comfortable in every room. Overall we are very happy with our system.

We had a Carrier Infinity 24 installed in Aug 2020. It makes frequent groaning noises before the fan starts and a "horror movie creaking" sound when the fan stops. Installer and Carrier say this is normal! The fan is quiet after it starts, but the groaning can be heard two stories above the unit with the windows closed. Glad its been working well for you. A few weeks ago we had 74 degree temp with 85 humidity, the house we set to 76 and it was pleasant and dry. I really love it and it just works.

With the infinity systems I've installed, it was necessary to install a muffler in the suction line maintaining 10 inches of straight tubing on both sides of the muffler.

Excellent review. Very informative. Thank you so much for making this video. I know it’s been a few years. I was wondering, because I just installed pretty much the same system except mine is a heat pump. How is your system holding up so far? Thanks for the great review the infinity control panel. Not even the manufacture video explains it as well as you.

No issues what so ever. Only thing I not crazy about is the dumb down app they switched to. The old app, same as the console you could do and see everything. The new one is basic controls only. It works so shouldn't complain much.

Carrier is now partnering with samsung.. for boards and the modulating compressor. They are using a transformer to make it run on DC voltage to achieve this. Watch out on some models you have to reprogram right out of the box thru the thermostat via wifi.

Good luck using the my infinity app. I have this same system but the app for the phone is down right garbage. Also their servers are down about twice a month too in which the app is then 100% useless

Might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, or checking your phone compatibility. I use my phone app every day for six years now with no problem.

True, the original app was less than stellar. The newer app seems to have much better connection reliability. The app is just a bonus for us, I just make slight settings at the control unit I just like to as is simpler I think, I dont like to carry my phone with me when not working like to relax so I leave it turned off.

I always say, buy what works for what you need and pay for the extras and enjoy. As there will always be a better, cheaper, more expensive, more features, less features item around. Enjoy what you have and maintain it best as possible, still enjoying it. 😀

You probably could of saved some money by just having your home insulation updated. If you have a crawl space I’d recommend insulating under the floors in the crawl space and blowing in more insulation in the attic. You can also have them blow in insulation in the walls now and also have foam injected into the walls as well. That would be your best bet rather just getting a new system and still having the drafts. Usually your electric company will have a program to come out for free and do things to better insulate and keep drafts out. They spent $3500 on my rent house 😂

How reliable (system stability, temp. accuracy, phone app, etc.) has the thermostat been? I'm considering a similar Carrier/Bryant system, but reviews I've seen of the communicating Infinity Control give me pause.

The unit works solid, if you are worried about just the app part then get ready for they all have app issue. In the end I 99% of the time just use the control panels. Theu have updated the app, however in my opinion any app to control any device will always be buggy. Its the nature of IoT devices, kinda like a car and relaying on the app to unlock the doors. Best to always have a key on you as remote technology will typically fail at times and best to be ready.

Total with labor was 13,500. I also looked at Bryant it was a different dealer and they quoted much more for a lesser system. So the biggest factor is who will be installing and serving and are they listening to you and what you want, or just trying to sell a basic system.

Its an ABCD.. connect.. two terminals are 24v and ground.. the other two terminals communicate.

There is not a fresh air mix system as my home is not that tight. On a newer home it would be a must.

Anyone have the touchscreen on this model just not wprk properly? The calibration is off, "back, feature, wifi, nor menu" will allow me to access. There is zero troubleshooting anywhere. If I didn't have the app, there is no way I could change anything.

I've been installing Carrier equipment for 40 years. Wait until a circuit board or motor fails. You'll part with ~$800.00 to $1000.00 for the repair bill. Absolute garbage made in Mexico.

the myinfinity thermostat absolutely sucks. Just went to a TP-link AX3000 router I bought from an Arris. No way can I connect. In the beginning I had many issues connecting and it didn't work for months. I figure this has been outsourced and whoever it doing the programming doesn't know squat. If anyone has any good tips let me know.

I am guessing you can connect to the wifi feature. My recommendation would be to create a legacy wifi connection. I have one set up for older and non speed related devices in our home. This way it can allow for older wifi devices to connect without dropping. Even though the wifi in the units is good, keep in mind best to keep it simple for some devices.

@@ronreeds9993 Carrier finally replaced the thermostat after much testing and putting in one of their routers. With the new thermostat which is completely different than than the first one, I’ve had no problems. And it connects up to the Wi-Fi system I had in place and everything else works on. They finally admitted they’ve had a lot of problems with that first version

The costs dropped approx 45%, however the biggest difference was the temp was more consistent now. In the past it went from hot to cold or vice-versa. Now we pay less and its very comfortable.

App is ok, was better when it was same as the interface. However they needed to make it like all other apps, keep in mind you dont have to update it will still work. I updated and just live with it. Dont really care much about the app, more the actual control unit and how well the system just works with 0 issues.
