Carryon Packing for a Week in Scotland

I'm packing for a little over a week in Scotland and I don't want to overpack. My goal is to fit everything I need into a standard carry on bag.
The packing cubes I'm using are Shacke Pak Packing Cubes, purchased on Amazon.

Since the depth of your packed suitcase looks like it was much more than 9", I'm guessing you had to check it for this trip, correct?

The carryon baggage size allowed by British Airways is 22" x 18" x 10" (56cm x 45cm x 25cm) so this would probably have made it at that size. The problem for us was that we were in economy at the back of the plane so by the time we boarded, any bag with wheels had to be checked, regardless of dimensions. Bags this size were able to be carried on by people ahead of us.

@@BedeSisters Ah! I forgot that British Airways allows larger carryon luggage than the other airlines like Delta do! I'm sorry you ended up having to check your luggage. I've had that happen too. I'll travel to Amsterdam and England later this year in my new Travelpro Crew Classic which is 23" H x 14.5 W" x 9.5" D. Since my trip will be 5 weeks long and my ticket includes 1 checked bag I decided to not stress about it. I need as much space as I can get, while still traveling as light as possible.

What about weight restrictions

Definitely something to consider. I think this bag weighed around 9kg/20lbs. We flew British Airways for this trip and their weight restrictions are generous. I think it’s something like 23kg/50 lbs. New Zealand is very strict with carry-on weight (7kg/15 lbs)so my bag in this video would not have passed their requirements.
