@13:30 A detuned LS7 engine was an option in the Vertical Hummingbird, which is a kit helicopter version of the Sikorsky S-52. Also, Porsche offered an aviation version of the 356 flat four which was used on the Gryodyne "Rotocycle" helicopter and the early QH-50 DASH antisubmarine drone helicopters, although in later versions the flat four was replaced with a Boeing turboprop.

I know it may seem obvious to some of us but i feel the caveat of local roads is often forgotten. I wanted an s2000 desperately for over a decade and almost nobody really talked about how boring they are if you arent on track. Its absolutely imperative to be in a scenario where you can be at the top of the rev range cranking it around corners to enjoy. Whereas my previous sti and my current mustang are significantly more fun to operate in everyday life, while being just as fun driving in a spirited manner.

I had a 105 GXL 1HZ Turbo Automatic, which meant live axle front end unlike the 100 series... It was an absolute unicorn. But those 100 Series factory turbo for absolutely insane money. No torsion bar front end. I wish I'd never made it go...a 1HZ (the non turbo) in not a base model GXL and auto was a 5k option AUD$ in 1998. They sold 2 in Tasmania, and probably 3 more on the mainland. All to Abalone Divers, after Safari introduced a Turbo with a Warranty...although I did need to use a crowbar to pull out a panel dent once we realised the passenger door wouldn't open....I used the sunroof several times to throw the (already attached) snatch strap, and you'll realise the benefit of a tailgate Cruiser, (it didn't even leak) when you're stuck up to the door handles...it's handy to be able to pop the top half to keep the water out of the car...😂

I have seen two Wagoneers, it's impressive. Considering the XJ was the first Jeep in Australia along with the Wrangler (with a 3 speed Auto) but I loved my XJ...which was 4 speed Auto, with 4.0L not much weight. It was the best thing ever on the beach...(also the first 4WD (I remember reading 4WD Buyer's guide from 1997) that had dual Airbags... I had the last of the "original XJ" (for Australia) a 97/98 model in 2004, so It was pretty cool...loved the old school plastic "school desk" woodgrain. Used to shove my uni lab coat into the air intake because Jeep parts in Australia are so expensive...so had the lift and 31s, and an angle grinder to the wheen arches. Worst air intake placement ever...but nobody else rolled up outside Chemistry covered in half in mud... but I love that 242 (4.0L motor). But that made me realise how much Automatics win offroad...especially on sand and Land Rover is the only real 4WD brand I haven't had...it's such a weird mix of Japanese and European, with American vehicles...actually Australia has the largest selection of vehicles per capita anywhere in the world...

I think the evo 9 is one of those cars that is is going to get crazy money soon. The market is already showing signs. The evo 6 is nice but it seems the 9 is like the r34 of the gtr world and the 6 is the r33. The 6.5 tme is the 400r of the evo world but unlimatly the 9s are most desired..

Nerd fact. The S2000 had the most powerful naturally aspirated engine with kw/L or horsepower to engine size....I think they were 176kW...we will just ignore the torque... but the Impreza was 168kW from a 2.5 Turbo, back in the early 2000s, and 6.5 to 100km/h was fast....haha. The WRX was the car to own, and before they bought a law regarding "grey imports" into Australia, there were Supras everywhere back when I first got my licence...now it is sad what I used to see around and I got my license 21 years ago...
