Keep in mind this video does not go into detail as to what can be different shock to shock. There are tons of valving combinations and different versions of a shock that may create small advantages, but this video was intended to show what the baseline differences are. If we want to go more in depth, we need and expert on shocks to break it down for you, not me lol

Thanks for the great content and insight. I enjoy videos like this as I am a local short track racer up here in Southeast Michigan. Shocks are a very tricky thing. I recently switched from Billsteins to Afcos. Moreso because the Billsteins were a built shock that i have no idea what is in them, versus the Afcos i bought 'off the self'. Keep up the great work and great content.

Great job explaining the shocks. One other difference is every engine combination weighs the same in the tour not in Nascar. I wish they would make every engine package weigh the same.

lol, reminds me of a story i heard from my motor builder back in ~2004. they put solid bars in the front of their car for transport to track. one weekend, they forgot to remove the solid bars and ran qualifying and had fast time. After qualifying, they saw that they forgot to remove.

Funny you mention Penske shocks.Ryan Blaney got DQ'd because of shocks at Las Vegas at the Cup race.The measurement from eye to eye didn't meet the NASCAR length.Anyway good luck in your racing program,keep digging,good comes to those who never give up.

Harvick and Junior have had their cars disqualified this season. So they hire crew chief's that are unable to follow rules. Harvick was just disqualified from a Cup race. These 2 are NOT the solution to any problem...they are the problem

While I think a rules consolidation is good, CARS Tour is an elite series. The defunct UARA Series made it easy for Late Model Stock cars to participate. So CARS Tour either needs to be a Super Late Model version of perimeter cars or a series where the few LMS Nascar legal cars can compete with little change. But if you go to a track without looking at the local rules, that's on you. When we go to our NASCAR track we know what's book legal and we know where we are wrong.

In my opinion there is no reason a cars tour late model stock should vary from the same late model stock that races at the weekly track it’s traveling to. That’s the entire point of the series!

It will have to hit promoters in the wallet before they do something reasonable like that. On the plus side, they aren't big changes. Just have to label the shocks NASCAR/CARS so any helpers can't put the wrong shock on the car.

The rules are why late model dirt racing is so much better and payouts are so much higher than asphalt racing right now...imo
