Paul, I've been a petrol head all my life. A bit long in the tooth now to ever contemplate doing what you and similar others do. However, I get a great deal of satisfaction watching you, loved this video, very informative. I sincerely hope the channel goes from strength to strength . Keep them coming.

Hi Paul there was once a man that had 5 wheel barrows to sell and he tried everything but couldn’t get a sale, so eventually realized he needed to change his approach. He advertised just 1 saying last 1 on offer at this special price and his first customers appeared thinking it was a special bargain so he repeated this 4 more times. Salvage yards and car breakers are like this that’s why parts are so expensive, the moral of this story- Im glad that I sold my 5 wheel barrows a few weeks ago 😂 Thanks

Great video Paul. For Audi’s the MyAudi app gives you the spec of the vehicle by putting the VIN in. Granted it’s more of a guide so you know whether your lights are halogen, xenon etc, your method is much better but the Audi app is quick. I also find partsgateway good, as well as using owner groups on Facebook etc (lots of breakers on there).

You missed the fact it needed an alloy wheel ;) Another problem you could run into is the salvage yard doesn't have the parts when you turn up, even though you saw them on their site and even rang them before you left to make sure, then travel over 100 miles for sweet fa (pickupspares) did this to me before.
@CarsForPaul4 жыл бұрын
It was more about the process on how and where to get parts rather than a detailed analyst of what was needed for the car

Hi Paul, I'm looking at buying a cat s car. Do insurance companies charge more to insure a car that has a category on it thanks.
@CarsForPaul4 жыл бұрын
Generally no, but check with your insurance provider to be sure.

Paul, I understand co- part are not allowing collection and only they can deliver ( at inflated prices) Surely they’re taking the piss. From what I can see from videos, they bring the car up to your truck and plonk it on there with a forklift. Where’s the danger of virus contact there? They’re another greedy unscrupulous company exploiting the covid situation
@CarsForPaul4 жыл бұрын
I think the contact issue for Copart is when the driver comes into the office to pick up the paperwork for the car, but the high prices I agree are unjustified.

Sorry but you said you was a mechanic yet you thought you could cut a chassis leg and weld it to the existing part of the chassis which you can’t do due to it’s a vital part of the vehicle. Then using chock blocks for wiring jobs 🤦♂️ this is why I’d only buy a car and repair it my self due to I know exactly what has happened and if someone didn’t point out to you that the chock blocks were shoddy the car would of been sold and 6 months down the line would of caused more problems
@CarsForPaul4 жыл бұрын
I think you will find that the chassis leg was then sent away to be welded properly and the chock blocks were replaced with proper soldered and shrink wrapped connections. Please watch the other video's before you start slinging mud.😀
