Haha. Hey Tasha, I knew you'd enjoy this one, it's both adorable, and amazing. Carson Peter's was 10yo when this was filmed. I think he's in his early 20's now. Anywoos, his dad had posted a video of his son playing and singing, and the producers of The Tonight Show (with Jay Leno) saw it and invited him on. Then, the producers of the Opry saw it, and brought him on there too. I love this video so much, because it is just so good. To be that talented at such a young age is unreal. He appeared on "The Voice" a few years back but, I think he didn't contend to well. Speaking of the voice; you want another video similar to this, I'd also recommend "One Voice" by; Billy Gilman". He took America by storm when he first came out too. Thanks for doing this Tasha. I adored your reaction, and will watch this multiple times. 😊

Carson is from Piney Flats, Tennessee. About 20 minutes or so from me. He's our boy!

Carson Peters is from my area he is grown and still in music. He has been doing music since he was 2. He and his band sing and tour. They are fantastic

Love your reaction. I discovered this myself only last year, it's one of my favorites to watch over and over again, look for his Orange Blossom Special when he was 10, and another about a year ago when he was 19. Carson is the greatest.

That upload cut off some of the introduction. During the conversation in the introduction, they said he was 10 years old and had been playing the fiddle for 6½ years. He loved Bill Monroe, who wrote and recorded this song in 1945. Bill Monroe passed away in 1996. Ricky Skaggs said he got to play on stage with Bill Monroe when he was 6 years old. Ricky Skaggs was a child prodigy.

The interesting thing about this is that Ricky Skaggs was a child prodigy himself and did just this same type of performance at age 6 with Bill Monroe, the originator of this song.

Carson was just on the last season of The Voice. He ended up on Team Blake (Shelton).....who apparently had no idea how involved Carson has been with the Opry, Ricky Skaggs, and the country/bluegrass scene in the past. Unfortunately, Carson was voted off after a few rounds and never made it to the finals. Truly disappointing, because he was phenomenal. Still SO talented!
