They were still 9-8 with a chance to get into the playoffs in Week 18 (had they gone 10-7 instead). I know, coulda woulda shoulda, but the Colts were not a BAD team last year. There were times when they looked amazing, like the away games against the Bills and Cardinals. I'm fine with my Colts trading Wentz, but I'm not sure if they got good value in return for him.

They had just come off getting blown out by Detroit. If I were still a commies(christ even the new name is awful) fan, I would not be fine with them trading for Wentz, but Snyder is such a bad owner I can't root for the team any longer anyhow. They have no hope of ever being good except through dumb luck, I've had enough. Takes 20+ years of bad ownership but I'm over it... I'll root for the real colts (baltimore should demand the name back you don't even have one of the tripple crown legs... though I guess you could argue they're the real browns also) from now on.

As a Colts fan I have decided that Wentz is a true enigma. I too just last off-season fell into the trap of looking at his stats and his build and even some of his highlights to see that the talent is there. “He’s just in a terrible situation in Philly!” I so foolishly thought. The truth is Wentz is the most inconsistent QB in the game today. He will give u a jaw dropping play and follow it up with a boneheaded throw. You truly never know what will happen when he releases that ball.

It’s not the ratio of Int to TD, it’s WHEN you throw those Ints that makes the difference. Carson threw picks in some of the worst spots that made him look crazy especially in that Jax game. They did well pass blocking. There were a lot of injuries to the o line last season but overall they were top 5. Eric Fisher was the worst at pass protection. Honestly the offense was predictable. Fell behind the chains too often and Wentz was terrible at hitting his check down.

2007 Patriots went from giving up 21(least in NFL) 3.4% sacks to giving up 51 in 2008(MOST in NFL). 8.5%.They were better individually in 2008. Guess what changed ? In 2007 Brady was the QB and in 2008 Matt Cassle was the QB. Brady is a master at manipulating the pocket. Thats what a real QB does. The greatest of greatest don't take sacks. They can make OLines look way better then they actually are. Sacks are mostly a QB stat. Colts OLine sure looked Elite when Rovers was the QB.

Colin C is not selling Wentz to Washington fans. Colin is making sense of the crazy stories coming out of the media. Letting football fans know these stories come from teams looking to protect their brands or the NFL protecting itself. So that means in 2020 when Wentz requested a trade the Eagles started generating negative stories about Wentz to protect their brand by claiming Wentz was a defective player. Now that Irsay's throwing a fit about the vaccine these same stories are being used in 2022 to protect the Colts by bashing Wentz as a defective, reckless crazy QB. Its brutal. I appreciate the knowledge from Colin its eye opening. Players don't have rights teams have all the power. Insiders like, reporters, GMs & coaches know this stuff. Outsiders like fans don't. That's because most people are programmed by the media to hate Carson Wentz. Whatever the media says they believe it to be true. Many are too lazy to examine the facts further or they lack detailed knowledge of the game. They are gullible. "Duh, why would the media lie?" Most fans trust the media. Most fans are lemmings. The media creates narratives for entertainment. Eli Manning was a failure we were constantly told. Eli sucks! It was a mantra. Turns out Eli was one of the most accomplished QBs in the NFC w/ a well rounded career. Yet, for his entire career he was portrayed as a BUM who was inferior to his peers. Wentz also lead the league in interceptions dropped. He just had good luck. These broadcasters are in love with Wentz. No matter how bad he is they can always explain it away. Two teams traded him away. They didn't trade him because they loved him and he was awesome. In Kaepernick's last year he had 16 TDs and 4 interceptions but people didn't jump to pick him up. His numbers didn't show what was actually happening on the field. Wentz lost with an incredibly talented Colts team.

Colin, you clearly didn’t watch enough of him. The reason the colts were good because of Jonathan Taylor, and the amount of turnovers they produced on defense. They used him very conservatively. Carson made so many bad throws they should have been intercepted. Yes he can make some insane throws sometimes, but 80 of the time he chooses the worst possible option. He also never goes through any of his progression which causes his eradicate decision making, something they’ve been trying to fix since his Philly days. It’s a mental thing with him, if the colts couldn’t fix it, the commanders won’t be able to.

it would be idiotic to draft a QB in this class unless somehow willis falls to around the 30-40th pick range.washington is now limited with picks and can't afford to take chances on top 60 picks. if wentz fails then obviously they'll use next years pick on a qb when that class is loaded and will probably have 4 maybe 5 qbs taken in the first round.

In my opinion, I would have given him at least one more year. 27 TDS and 7 ints is a pretty good year for a QB. I’m a Bears fan and Trubisky made the Pro Bowl with I think 27 TDS and 12 to 14 ints, 4 years ago. I thought Wentz played great, considering he hurt his foot in training camp and they didn’t think he would play until after the first month of the regular season. His first year with a new team, was injured before season and still played his tail off! Colts may have dumped his big contract, but 6’5” 230lb veteran, winning record QBS are hard to come by and I think Washington got one over on the Colts, not the other way around!

Trubisky is the risky move. If he doesn’t get them to the playoffs the FO will look stupid enough to be in the hot seat. Jimmy is more likely to get them there barring injury. If he gets injured then they get to draft a guy and use Jimmy G as a bridge QB.
