Daniel Dennett talks about the first unifying theory of Humor... Showing examples of historically particular explanations of Humor. He then goes through some philosophers and basically skips Freud's explanation, almost skipping the whole slide altogether. He must have forgotten to take it out or he deviously included in him in his negation whilst including him, unconsciously imprinting Freud's theory as merely historical in the audience. He then shows examples of Humor and explains the biological/evolutionary function of humor. Cleverly manipulated, but Freud s theory of Humor is as unifying as his is. Dennett is merely more narcissistic in thinking that only the evolutionary perspective could explain everything.
