Benton knows Carter's alone there without any family. He's all the family Carter has. "You don't have to do that." Carter's voice goes all husky. I'm not crying YOU'RE crying!

Benton's voice sounds so much more mature and older than the earlier seasons! Kind of sad to realise that many of the cast were on ER 15 years!

All the ER scenes here are Season 15. Carter needs a kidney transplant because he is in renal failure (one kidney stopped functioning after he was stabbed in season 6, and for the other he got an infection while working in Africa). I hope that helps ;)

As if Peter- body checks a cop, "is he conscious?"- Benton wasn't already planning to stick by Carter through the whole surgery. Give me a break. ;)

It wasn't shown on screen. He just explained what happened to him to Dr Banfield during the episode 15.17. You can check the video "The kidney joke" on my channel...

Could you please tell me in which season/episode that infection in Africa is shown ? Thanks for uploading the video's!

It's not shown onscreen, it's something that Carter reveals when he returns. And it's not a single incident that causes his kidney to fail.
