No one does it any smoother or cleaner than Carter probably one of the greatest examples of touch and feel of any drummer living today

Some of the coolest drumming I've ever seen. And I've been watching drummers a long time. Mr McLean plays with his heart.

I’m a drummer and have been a fan of drummers since middle school, I’m 64 now. My favorites are John Guerin, Steve Gadd, Vinnie, Buddy, and many others. I ran across a video of Carter playing at what looked like the deck of a restaurant with a quartet and he absolutely killed it. The whole band was great, but I noticed Carters amazing touch and feel. This video just confirms what an amazing player he is. There’s a reason he’s been playing Broadway shows for years, he’s the best of the best and I’m a big fan.

Just such incredibly lovely playing in every department. Carter’s articulation is just….sublime. Also a shout out for those gorgeous Dry Dark Xists- my 20” dry dark crash is my favourite cymbal. Up to now, have been unable to find a ride in the same range that…sounds like a satisfying ride. But that 19” one Carter’s using has definitely got my attention.

You always have the perfect touch. I love your sense of dynamics and phrasing. Everything Ive seen from you, and ive seen much of this channel, has so much conviction, intimacy, and awareness that its really easy to hear, feel, and see why you might use certain ideas in the very precise way you did, even when they're complicated. You make me feel really comfy and eager to be stretched, and then you dole out the stretch very appropriately and musically. That fucking bottomless, harry potter pocket. You must be so much fun to play with. Just want to throw out my appreciation because your whole approach is so beautiful and it makes my heart sing.

Carter, you’re amazing. Your vibes are so welcoming, peaceful & soulful. I think every drummer has strived for this. You’ve captured it, effortlessly. I’ve never seen a drummer quite like you. A drummer who understands all the dynamics of not just drums, but the song. Love your drumming.
