I had an old one that had trigger travel and tension. Then they went to no travel adjustment on the release but tension only. Now this new has both again. I have the one from just few years ago- zero travel with tension set screw only. My favorite release for years now. If I had a new one I’d set it with no travel so there’s nothing to be gained for me. They are great releases for the money.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
I agree, I like mine with no travel, the 2022 version (blue one) only has the one adjustment. I listed that one for sale today and keeping the new one!
@timbow502 ай бұрын
lol, you aren’t going believe this. I bought a custom made beautiful leather hip quiver at a garage sale and in a zippered pouch was a practically new old model Wise Choice. I couldn’t believe it. Now I have I have three. I’m sure my son will confiscate one of them.

That’s insane! Kind of like the times when you hear online that some guy goes to a garage sale and a brand new lone wolf climber hardly ever used was for sale for $20 lol Sweet find! Enjoy it!

Carter makes an “adjusto trigger bar” called something like that… I think it’s 15 or 20 bucks and you can get the added thumb barrel adjustment like the new version has on your older releases
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Where can you order from? All I see online is this which is just the thumb button. lancasterarchery.com/products/carter-adjusto-trigger
@TheSlingshotShow3 ай бұрын
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors it used to be directly on their website but it’s been updated since last I looked… might need to email them. It’s the “adjusto trigger bar” I found some random places it’s sold at too www.alternativess.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/001826.863893.17017611059619948185/ARAD3010?

I had a just b cuz in lime green. Loved that release feel... but never could get that adjusted to be anything but feather light trigger. Sold it and went back to truball beast with a heavy trigger spring.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I like to set these pretty heavy to play with, almost makes me shoot better.

I think if could have adjusted the thumb button weight I would have kept it

Great release! Great be never shot a release from Carter that I didn’t like. Ultimately I settled with the just b cuz which is a close resemblance of the wise choice bc it fit my hand better. Keep up the great videos brother!

Does the break feel any cleaner-more crisp than the older one. My old one probably has 10,000+ shots on it. You know some releases have a certain clean feel versus others.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
I definitely think so, I guess I should have covered that, I was kinda wondering if it was just set hotter from the factory.

Ive had and ran the original for years and love it , my go to release for my hunting bow set up , saw the 24 come out and had to try it . First off Its Carter quality of course , however , I really dont see this trigger any better than the original . I do like the added extension bar , however , hate how its offset , puts the barrel too far away from the body , makes you reach out with your thumb if you will . Want to love it , probably going to look into modifying , would be better if extension bar was just straight .
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
I bet its because you have shot it so long you have that “feel” burned in your brain. Kinda like me when I shot my old index release for 15 years straight, If you shoot a lot you get those “feels” Me since I don’t seem to shoot it that much so it feels like an improvement for me on how I perceive it to “feel”
@Aldocello13 ай бұрын
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors no doubt that's part of it but I also run the stand ONNEX, as well as the stan button click, and any other button release I've shot, the buttons nowhere near offset like this new Carter 24, don't know why they chose to do that maybe some people wanted it but it's really hard for me to get it lined up exactly like the original so I have it as a back up but I've got to tell you I'm really loving the new stan click button which I'm probably going to get another , may be my new go to hunting rig, and of course I'm also digging deep in the rabbit hole with running the Stan onnex heavy metal hinge, a lot of getting used to but as far as the 24, I really don't think it's a great upgrade
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
The Stan onnex clicker is a phenomenal release, It might be the most accurate release ive shot since ive began testing hand held releases!! Love it so far, my wife actually stole it from me and now wants me to order here a medium size.
@Aldocello13 ай бұрын
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors which we all know you are going to do lol yeah it is a really good concept at first I did not like it but once I played with it more it really helped me focus on my pull through, slowed me down a good bit and helped me get a more controlled release, definitely takes away the thumb punching if you allow it, it also made me want to graduate to a hinge as well although I'm not really liking this Stan hinge, I do want a hinge with a click and for some reason and I'm sure it's me I'm only getting the click 50% of the timebut I'll get it figured out but I'll also experiment with others of course, if Stan is not the hinge that I choose to keep a lot of people love it I'll be able to get rid of it for a good price to someone no problem
@MichiganGreatOutdoors3 ай бұрын
I got the HBC flex by tru ball and absolutely love it. I think it’s the finest hinge ive ever tried. Super crisp and the most important thing is that its been super consistent in the click, it’s the same every time which I love. I had the UV hinge 2 and it was trash compared to the HBC, also the Carter Honey 2 is super nice, no click but very accurate.

Ok fam, I don’t buy anything these days without watching your review first. So here’s my dilemma. I can’t decide between the wise choice 24, the uv button, or the stan onnex click or whatever that thing is called. To throw another wrinkle in there, I’ve been eyeballing the Scott verge as well. It’s sort of a hybrid. I’ve shot a trigger style for 33 years, but wanting to just see what all the fuss is about with a thumb button. But dang, those jokers are too expensive to buy 3-4 and try em all out! So if you had to choose one of those four, which one would it be?
@MichiganGreatOutdoors2 ай бұрын
If I had to choose one Id choose the UV button I think or the Stan Onnex Clicker…. I shoot those the best. Hard fricken choice!!!

did you contact carter? They have great customer service. I had a nock 2 it and I was shooting in hot temps, like 95 degrees and I was all sweaty, well it slipped out of my 2 fingers and the bow fired and the release smacked the riser and exploded, I sent it back to them and they rebuilt it and it worked flawlessly for years after. Did you contact them?

@@MichiganGreatOutdoors they want $50 to fix it with the same crappy MIM parts. No thanks.
