My first car was an Omega A/Carlton, 2,0 8valve automatic with 446000km on the clock. Amazing winter beater with LSD. Since then I've owned 4 other Omegas. ALWAYS THUMBS UP FOR OMEGA! With everybody doing supercars and exotics, these beaters are often overlooked, but they get us around every day like true reliable friends. We need more of these videos

Crazy how you can buy 2 tidy mk5 golf tdi's and can barly buy 1 tidy mk4 with the same money, And little secret the injectors for the arl asz engines are worth a mint second hand, so even if you got a rotten mk4 tdi for 300 you can get that if not more back from ebaying the injectors alone

@@reedstemen MOT is an annual inspection for the car. Costs £50 ish and the car shouldn't have any major warning lights , should have good tyres and basically be safe for road use. I like this concept.

Why not go full top gear. Each of you buy a cheap car and then do challenges. Can easily be a 3-4 part series, so the cost will even out ( 3 cars = 3+ videos). Had a silver Bora TDI (all red so 150 hp version - red I is 110). Bought it at 3 years old and ran it for about 6 years until just shy of 100k when, despite regular servicing, the cams went pointy and smashed their way through the followers. Had to give up on it (although bought by a bloke from the owners club who rebuilt it, did it up a bit more and kept it I think), but I loved that car. Was really nice to drive and was my first `nice` car (i.e. not a heap of crap Clio/Fiesta etc). For boring reasons I now have a Focus Mk3 160hp diesel and it's nowhere near as nice.
