Vq37 VHR no when they tested the engine on the dyno the exhaust was very restricted, but when it is in phil it will have ca 250 to 260 hp because a free flowing exhaust. and then he will tune the ecu for 280 hp.

@@william911turbos7 I suspect with a remap, race fuel, and different pistons+cams+heads you'd be able to push 400 on an NA setup, but it's not worth the trouble when the car is now lighter than ever and putting too much power in an MX-5 just turns it into a death trap. Between 250 and 300 is the sweet spot for the MX-5 due to weight, traction, and wheelbase limitations.

There's no better feeling than starting you project car's new engine late at night in a hurry ! I had to get my e36 bare body assembled all alone in 2 days and travel 500km's to get it registered and I was in a big hurry not to miss the deadline that's tomorrow. Early morning at 4 o'clock it was alive. It was amazing. It was such a junkyard build... Gas tank vent tube for fuel line, no heater, no headlights working, no dirver's side window, etc... My shift knob was an umbrella handle :D

I love wagons. I'm not entirely sure why, but the body shape of modern station wagons just appeals to me. All the straight, smooth body lines that flow right down the back of the car are just nice. I'm not sure if the BMW diesel will be able to best the early 2000's Mercedes diesel with a mechanical fuel injector swap, but it'll be fun to see what you can accomplish.

Fun Fact (or story) (not sure if it is real or not):After creating the engine mister Rudolf Diesel sat and though for some time on what name to give the engine until his wife came into his room and said "Why don't you simply call it the Diesel engine?" And that's how it remained.So the name of the engine is not from Rudolf Diesel.But from his wife.He still patented the engine and he created it but his wife named it.
