The MOT history of this car is hilarious. It has failed because of: The front lights being too cloudy. Left windshield washer too low pressure. Right windshield washer too low pressure (a different MOT). The airbag being "obviously defective" one two separate occasions. Worn brake pads after 5 years of advisories on them. Different lights being out on three separate occasions. A tyre being fitted round the wrong way. Nothing major, but bloody hell a simple once over before taking it to the garage could have saved a few fails.

That's all insane! IDK how anyone in the UK with limited means or car knowledge can even own one. If I had to MOT my car they'd probably take it from me and crush it to put it out of it's misery. Structural rust, dashboard like Christmas Eve (VAG); SAIP, ABS, oil temp sensor, and probably something else, leaking; oil, steering and coolant and probably a million other reasons to fail. All that and my car isn't actually half bad against most other cars with 200k miles. I guess I should be glad I live in "land of the free to drive an absolute pile of shit".

Mason Frudd Auto welding masks darken as soon as you start welding. You want it to go dark so you don’t get a sunburn on your eyes.

I own a Z3 2.8 "project car" for a few years. Best value car there is, really. It looks MILES better than an MX5, the straight six is a /fantastic/ engine that you don't have to 'turbo', and it's actually a pocker luxury car to boot. Electric roof, seats, leather everywhere, precious wood console, heated mirrors, ABS, traction control, limited diff and about 200bhp that sounds like *awesome* any day of the week. Been putting a great smile on my face for years.

Things for Ethan to do (some purely for entertainment...), in no particular order...ok the order I thought of them: - Clutch (obviously) - Exhaust - Bumpers/full bodykit - Seats - Wheels - All suspension components - Brakes - New hood (the folding roof, not the bonnet) - Wrap the whole car, ideally metallic pink or BMW racing colours - Maybe a few E36 M3 goodies? - S52 swap...or 2JZ. - NEONS (just imagine Ethan in a convertible with neons and tell me it's not the greatest idea ever). Maybe spinners too.

I agree with all besides engine swap. M44 can make 550 crank hp with just arp headstuds and stock internals. Also the better weight balance makes the 1.9 z3 feel loads more nimble than the 2.8 and 3.2 models.

@@hojnikb you'd be surprised, and then it's the pistons that fail. The block and bottom end will hold around 600 as they are factory forged with just cast pistons. It is pretty crazy. I've built 3 of these little motors so far. Very underrated. My daily e30 318is is making 400 crank on a conservative tune just for reasonable mpg haha. I've owned my Z3 for about 3 years now and just had to replace the side skirts as they had rusted away and the rust had started to get the chassis. Sorted all that out, I've replaced the rocker cover gasket, exhaust, and had to touch up my wheel arches because of rust. A lot of people say to get a new car but I love my Z3 and can't wait to see what you guys do to yours!!

I’m 16 and just bought myself a project car of my own, it’s a 2003 Skoda Octavia VRS Combi and I got it for €350. It’s pretty clean except for the fact it needs an engine 😂 Audi TT engine is a straight bolt in swap. That’s the plan 😁

Good luck insuring it pal. A 2003 VRS is a 180 brake engine and if you're planning on engine swapping, that's gonna be even more on your insurance. You wanna get a cheap 1L 3cyl to run around in so you can get a few years of no claims under your belt. That's what I'm in the process of doing cause I'm looking at a 1993 MR2 (W20) GT-i16 (rev 2) and that won't be a cheap runner for an 18-19 Y/O given the RWD, Mid Engine, 2 door sports car schtick given it's an insurance group 16 car. Be VERY careful about this car. You gotta think of insurance, tax, MOT, fuel, maintenance costs etc
