I'll never regard the JBVO "DragonBall Z" episode as a mystery, because I also saw it when it aired back then. :) I very vividly remember Johnny's VA telling the little girl over the phone that he can't play the whole episode, but he can fast-forward through it and commentate over it to make it up to her. Viva Las Bravo segment was recorded by me back in 2006 and I uploaded it online somewhere in 2007/2008. The block was real, although Johnny Bravo did not have live interaction with the audience. It was all a stock footage of him talking. The block offered three shows to choose from and vote for on the website, then on the following day the winning show got 2 hours of rerun episodes. It was on the Pan-European version of CN that we had in Bulgaria back before we got our own version of the channel in October 2009.

It really makes me sad Cartoon Network doesn’t want to be amazing! Cartoon Network in the early 2000s had so much care and love to it. all the shows had a relatable aspect to them or a way to escape from the world. With MTV turning into reality tv instead of music videos, when The History channel turned to making Ancient Aliens, and when Animal planet did their mock-documentaries on 'Mermaids The Body Found" and one on fire breathing dragons (dissecting a 'discovered' body and describing the fire making mechanism), one can not expect cartoon network to make cartoons. I think that they could actually make JBVO work now. Think about it. They hire the voice actor to as a live host. And they give him a V-tuber rig for johnny. Imagine a V-tuber rig with large corporate funding and access to professional animators. Add in support team to man the animations and screen, screen requests, and find the episodes from the catalogue of videos. They could also double dip with twitch streams (although they obviously could have chat live on the television version; maybe only the screened comments for interaction). I get that JBVO isn't going to be the one that breaks this ground, but this got me thinking of the concept of a V-Tuber talkshow on television in general. Like a Stephen Colbert style host making this central to their show. It might event appeal to a network, since the "star of the show" is not entirely a real person- the actor could be switch out with minimal issues while maintaining the face and the brand.

Here in the UK We had what was called Big Bravo Live which was our version of JBVO. However it aired sometime during a week school holiday back in 2000 and it aired all week from 8 am - 5pm. People could call Johnny and request a cartoon which would be played for an hour, it also had the chat and competitions. Following that Toon fm(live from Japan) aired during 1 week school holidays from 9-5 I believe October 2001. Cartoon Network did a Japanese themed week with it to coincide with the Premier of Tenchi in Tokyo, it was mostly just competitions and live phone ins. It then was a hour long block as you say around early 2002 on weekday mornings It lasted about a month.

She finally told him Bubbles was her favorite, and he said he would air an episode she was in. Yes and no. While it shares similarities, he’s not exactly solely meant for live broadcasts like some of the earliest vtubers. Most Vtubers are created specifically for a sole entertainer as an alias, even when said character is used to promote a brand. Although the concept of JBVO does predate the overall concept of a vtuber broadcast itself by almost a decade; while most people believe Kizuna Ai was the first Vtuber, that’s not quite true either. The first vtuber software wasn’t released until 2009 (along with the first wave of “virtual” content creators such as Super Sonico).

Just found your page. Has anybody ever asked about "Fighting Foodons" I was talking to my boyfriend just last night about this show and they think I'm truly insane.

This reminded me of how I felt when i first saw naruto and neon genesis evangelion that one time on tv and only found out what they were after a few years of searching

Woah. You never heard of O' Canada? I remember watching those. I stayed up pretty late as a kid. Some weird stuff. The Cat Came Back was probably my favorite short. Toon Heads was such a great idea and should still be airing or be revived on a streaming service.

As soon as he said "oh Canada" i was like OH SHIT! I had forgotten all about it. I recognize all those animations

In 2009, I saw a HiHi Puffy AmiYumi clip that I couldn't find anywhere. It featured Ami and Yumi in a giant bowl of ramen that a giant version of Harmony was about to eat. The bowl jumped away and Harmony chased it while saying 'I am number one!' 3-4 times.

Hearing you talk about Symbionic Titan reminds me of my love for Tower Prep, the live action CN show that ended too soon. I'm not really in the lost media scene, but I was wondering if there is anything lost around this show? I've never met anyone who has watched it, let alone see any discourse behind it

"Chord" is a musical term. A "cord" is what one would plug into an electrical outlet.

A lot of Toonheads is still lost. In fact the Night of Independent Animation special is still lost from what I gathered.

Fascinating stuff! A lot of these I never knew about until now. Also, I KNEW “Rude Removal” was gonna be in there somewhere.
@yugioht422 жыл бұрын
Rude removal aired once ever. It was immediately removed after complaints by parents. It was brought into syndication as a late night thing and aired once again but it disappeared from airwaves. I currently have no idea where it is now.

Does anybody remember the programming block called "Cartoon Network Fridays" from 2003-2007 to where Tommy and Tara host?
@Jac7352 жыл бұрын
No but I remember tge Ines from 98 2000 blocks though I font ghjnk I remember the one your talking bout
@amoureux6502 Жыл бұрын
Yesss I was wondering if that would come up in this video, my favorite thing about watching Fridays was that after it they'd just show anime dubs the entire night

Love this video! It reminded me of something I started searching for but was unable to find. I know it was related to Fusionfall but haven't been able to find it online, it was a strange promo on CN of ufos appearing and sitting over areas menacingly, I remember seeing them as a kid because it struck me as so unusual.

Are the UFOs supposed to be CN Invaded, an event that occurred across 5 shows in 2007 and featured aliens as its hosts?
@Roxona7282 жыл бұрын
@@hennettbamilton218 I think that it led to that maybe, I know it featured an alien ship going around but can't find the initial bumper of it to confirm

I remember back on the Nickelodeon website there were free Fairly Odd Parents 'Webisodes'. I was on there as early as 2005. While the characters, voice and sounds were, as I remember, on point, it animated more like an animatic or a moving comic. Can't seem to find them with a google search.

Robot Jones Windows 98 voice is OP. I remember watching this show when I was a kid and I stopped watching after the redub for obvious reasons. It was ahead of it's time and also very classic in style. This and Time Squad.

They found Johnny quasar the entire short.. and all it took was for that the voice actor of johnny to post his video of it... the same will happen with Johnny Bravo

I 100% remember the Johnny Johnny block, but only really the back and forth between the two. I couldn't tell you which episodes were aired, or really anything else about it.

Wow I forgot all about Toon Heads. The great thing about these lost media cases are the fact that it brings back these old shows/blocks back into my memory.

I feel like I need to clear something up about Viva Las Bravo. It wasn't a show, it was more of a programming block. It was aired over the summer holidays when kids were off school, and the whole idea was that the kids who were at home on holiday, would get to pick what was on TV. Johnny didn't talk over the episodes or really contribute much other than appearing as a "host" for this block in between episodes, but even that was very limited. I personally also don't remember him "interacting" with fans or even it trying to be passed off as live, but I could be remembering wrong.

That makes a bit more sense. Sounds like Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, but with Johnny Bravo.

Oh my god! JBVO! I loved that show. My mom had a crush on Johnny Bravo and didn’t have cable at her house so I taped it when I was at my dad’s, since he did. Unfortunately I’m certain these are lost since our VHS tapes were taped over with family videos eventually.

Its crazy how the late '00s cartoons had such little shelf life or everyone or seems to have been forgotten. Maybe its cuz cn was into live action shows more than traditional animated ones. At least a few like adventure time and regular show managed to get all kinds of success and popularity tho

I totally remember that double Johnny thing. They were on opposite sides of the screen while they would argue. I wanna say they were inside glass tanks or a line divided them, but I can’t recall the details. That bumper definitely existed though. Didn’t even know it was considered lost.
