Children's lost media is the best mix of curiosity and childhood nostalgia wrapped into one. I personally love digging up old kid's lost media from when I was younger (between 2009-2014.)

My son was born in 1997, so it was Nick Jr. and the Disney channel all day everyday, so it's nostalgia for me and I'm sure for my sons, I had another baby in 2000. I recorded many hours of Nick Jr shows with commercials and everything, I miss my kids being little, sometimes when I play those tapes to reminisce my wonderful times with them, I cry in silence.

Bro, Im a 98 kid and bro I feel the same way, but you got to experience most of the late 90’s early 2000’s and have recorded experiences of it. Wish we could go back, but we must go on into the future but never forget the past. Also I have tapes of Cartoon Network that I recently digitized from 2004, I use this vr emulator called emu vr to replicate the tv’s and experience my childhood once more ( I don’t have the space for a crt tv so this was the next best thing)

Something else interesting is that PBS Kids always seem to have interesting music choices for their bumpers every now and then. For instance, around 2005, there was a promo for Cyberchase that used the Black Eyed Peas song "Let's Get it Started", which that promo seems to be lost as well.

My parents both had “crack of dawn” jobs, so they usually had me up and around with them. Once we got Dish network in ~2003/2004, I was extremely engrossed in watching these shows while my parents got ready for the day. I distinctly remember my watching order preference went as follows: - Nick Jr. (If Blues Clues was on, my parents did not expect me to be willing to change channels) - Ready Set Learn! (Personal favorites included Hi-5 and the Save-Ems!) - PBS Kids - Playhouse Disney (caveat: Bear in the Big Blue House I would drop everything to watch, provided Blues Clues wasn’t on)

The Captain Carlos shorts aired in Guatemala around the 2010s. I had no idea they were so old. I guess media takes a while to transfer from the north to the south. Like 90s stuff arrived in the 2000s, 2000s to the 2010s, etc.

Speaking of Children's Television lost media, I have been looking for something that I can't seem to find anywhere. Its called 'Secrets of the Cryptkeeper's Haunted House', it aired on Saturday Morning on CBS in late 96 (Sept 96-Dec 96). It only lasted for one season & won a daytime Emmy I believe. You can pull up information on it, in somewhat decent detail so its not like people don't remember, its just not available to view outside of a few clips and an episode or two on KZbin. I've done some searching myself but it mostly just goes ignored. No episodes or DVDs seem to be available purchase either and I don't see any mention of VHS collections being sold. Would be awesome if someone could find this missing classic game show I used to love, the few times I got to see it.

I had no idea there was so much lost media about the Wiggles!! I remember I was obsessed with them back in the day (my mom claims that we were one of the first families in town to really get into them) and I remember watching them for hoooours. Seeing the lost media for them has inspired me to go digging through my mom's old box of VHS tapes to see if we have any of the old Wiggles stuff when I get home! Crappy thing is I can't remember if I even HAD any Wiggles on the VHS... it's one of those "I remember watching them for hours, but can't remember that those hours included having to rewind / swap tapes around" situations 🙃🙃

I don't know why kid's shows have always been the most popular form of lost media. I think early on, the term was just being used like a catch all label for online content talking about theories and true stores of banned or unaired cartoons. I remember thinking, this is indeed very interesting, but why is the term "lost media" only being used for these specific situations of lost media? Later you and similar channels started talking about lost media in general, which is great
@ExtremeWreck
@ExtremeWreck 2 жыл бұрын
Nostalgia for these shows more likely explains it, alongside the fact that the anime scene wasn't well known for lost media hunting at the time as they mainly focused on fansubs & waiting for the next anime or dub to come out. Video games in particular were the most popular form of lost media before even kids' shows became a popular form of lost media.

Comcast had a channel called PBS Kids Sprout, that was eventually renamed to just Sprout once PBS launched their Kids brand as a digital subchannel. It’s possible there was a localized dub that aired on Sprout following PBS’ exit from the partnership, so searching contemporary TV listings might come up with something.

I think you’re talking about “Step inside”! You’ve probably mixed it with another kids show called “Come Outside” also so that’s why!

@@rabbitfloss I remember that show too . Though I found that boring. I did like her dog though. But yes I think that was it ? I was thinking there was proberbly lost media stuff on that. Being a old show and how uncanny it was

@@giannaxoxo2648 I actually liked that show, for some reason?? There’s probably lost media about it though, there’s lost media with EVERYTHING.

This is sorta related to lost media but I vaguely remember this one show on TV in the middle of the night in the 2010's- 2013's. I think this show was a TV special since It played only once from what I remembered. It was Christmas related due to it being December but what I remembered, it was a puppet show with reindeer puppets singing songs and stuff. In the beginning of the special is a Christmas tree with lights and a fireplace in the background, which cuts to the puppets. This is possibly the only information that I know from my memory. This might not exist but I SWEAR I saw this on TV ONCE. Just wanted to comment this on here for some answers about this show I saw.

I'm sure someone else has already commented on this, and you probably already know, but the wicked witch sesame street episode has been found, after it was leaked online! a very exciting find that i was really excited to watch unfold. the episode itself is actually very charming, but I can understand why some small children would react the way they did. i too was very afraid of the wicked witch lol. overall, not a bad episode, i really enjoyed it.

I had no idea Oswald wasn’t popular back in the day, and was clueless about its popularity in Japan. I also knew international versions of Blues Clues existed (though now I vaguely remember seeing the UK actor). Every few sections my mind was getting blown.

How I actually started to get into lost media was from Pink Morning Cartoon because my friend introduced me to lost media 3 years ago and the first video she showed to me about lost media was pink morning cartoon! Ever since that day I've always liked to watch lost media and sometimes even think of things from when I was a kid that could be lost media now!

i would watch Qubo at my grandpa’s house because he never had cable. my cousins and I loved watching it together. I also loved the Hub, so nostalgic.. Chuck and friends! AHH.. we still have a DVD from that show! I discovered Paz the Penguin through something else. I never watched Ready Set Learn, I just am very familiar with Paz somehow. I loved playhouse disney, and the game series BunnyTown, and Ooh and Aah! you brought so much nostalgia to me, LSSQ! Can you at some point talk about “Lou and Lou Safety Patrol”? It aired on Playhouse Disney I think.

I could swear there's something familiar about that "Oswald/Osbourne" thing. Also, I assume the "alternate dubs" are more interesting to the people who speak whatever language the shows were dubbed in :-P And I do actually remember that "Stanley" show occasionally, when I think about a time when "logging onto the internet" was still a concept as opposed to computers and phones pretty much always being online (there were a couple of episodes where Stanley asked his parents or older brother to log onto the net with him)

So I'm going to bring this up because I've been trying to put together when the Oswald commercial would've been and I distinctly remember being nearly a teenager while my younger sister still watched Nick Jr. and this commercial occurring. She also LOVED Oswald. So perhaps broadening the search up to about 2005 might help? Not to mention I know nick at night sometimes ran ads for children's television since some of the people watching it had grandkids or kids. I dug through some nick at night materials (circa 2002) and didn't find it then but perhaps others will have more luck if they see this. Happy hunting.

Vimeo is like a god for children's media lore. There always happens to be master footage or prototype render stuff on there and it's so perplexing. One thing in particular I found cool was a 16:9 master version of a Nick Jr. Piper O'Possum promo.

I remember as a kid, watching a cartoon on Nick jr, i think, thatvwas about a town of animals, and yhe adventures they went on, and the lessons they learned. What i really remember about it was that it was beautifully handdrawn, like Little Bear, but I can't remember the name. I just remember, whenever I was sick and stayed home from school, Grandma would put the TV on for me, and it was always this specific show first that I saw. I wish I could find it again, because I know it was real, and it was my favourite show.

You've covered a lot of late 90s to early 2000s stuff. Early 90s nick Jr. Also had a lot too. Lamb Chop, that one elephant show, even Eurkeekas castle have a lot lot. The latter has shown up on Paramount plus, but a lot of material is still missing.

In February of this year, I discovered a google photo album with a large collection of Blue's Clues in other languages. I specifically remember there were plenty of the British version with the different host. Since then, I have left the photo album, and upon seeing this video today the link no longer works to get into the album :(
