Reminds me of the “fat” F-18s and Harriers I drew when I was an illustrator for McDonnell Douglas. This one’s really clever, and somewhat amazing that it flies so well! It would get plenty of attention down at the flying field.

They didn't have EDF version available when they sent me this prop driven version. Hope I get to try that out as well although I suspect it's not much different that what I've got. I've asked them if they have upgrade parts.

It was good on that one but not so good on 2nd flight in next video. I think gyro stabilisation is a must with this plane especially when slowing up

Definitely hand launchable and there is a good piece of foam underneath to hold...but I would want to wear a thick glove in case the propeller got in the way !

Glad you enjoyed it. I hope my observations help you have successful flights with it. Changing the propeller for something with 1 inch less diameter (and therefore a bit more pitch) is a must !

I used to draw my own versions of fatty planes 30 years ago... Besides, I wonder if 40 mm edfs would not be better since lighter and would have plenty of thrust in two versions.

Good flying and landing! Converted mine to 50mm EDFs, the 2600 and 3000mah lipo I have is too light for the CG now, going to try 4000mah. I think I need @400g to get the CG. Also did you notice the hand launch handle on the belly, too dangerous with the pusher prop but I wonder if the EDFs will have enough power for a hand launch, maybe from a cliff.

I did see a video of an EDF conversion and plan to do that myself! I guess just some thin fly in the tubes to mount them on after cutting each side open. Regards hand launch....no! Not with that big prop.

You can put a 3-bladed smaller diameter prop on it to reduce the blade strikes.

I used a 4S5000 pack and I think on that setup it would have flown 8 or 9 minutes. That is pusher setup though. Twin EDF will not be as efficient. 4 to 5 minutes on that 4S5000 pack maybe. Will know soon. The EDF conversion kit is on its way to me now.

$220 is kinda steep. It looks good but I suspect that even a mild crash landing will blow it to bits... if it were epp foam then yes good price, but not epo

No different than any other foamy jet in terms of its durability. Nobody uses EPP and EPS turns to dust if damaged. EPO is definitely best as it deforms or tears. Price includes retracts and gyro. Its not bad and it'll always be high on launch like any other product

@@EssentialRC I have 2 fpv planes that are epp and I've smashed them really hard and the go back together easy. Reptile dragon v2 and the zohd dart wonderful foam not cheap disposable ice chest quality foam, I like the looks of this one but that foam is junk
