The Judge Dredd/Batman crossover Judgement in Gotham by Alan Grant and John Wagner (Dredd's creator) with painted art by Simon Bisley is a standout crossover. Alan Grant had written dozens of Batman comics by the time he and Wagner got together with the wunderkind Bisley, so Bruce acts in character as does Joe Dredd. Less successful, but still fine follow-ups, featured Cam Kennedy and Carl Critchlow penciling.

One of my favorite crossovers is John Byrne’s Batman / Captain America. Great art and fun story. I remember an interview where he said it was one of his more memorable books creating.

Some good crossovers: Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, Batman & The Spirit by Darwyn Cooke, Batman/Hellboy/Starman by Mike Mignola, The Uncanny X-Men And The Teen Titans

That Batman & The Spirit one shot is a jewel even among Darwyn Cooke's already incredible body of work.

I have a soft spot for that Lobo/Mask crossover. Thanks for this video. This comic has aged better than the Spawn/Batman comic

I feel like the X-Men/Teen Titans crossover was pretty successful, pretty much a Marvel production. I'm still hoping for an all-encompassing Amalgam video series, which seemed more creator-driven, almost a fan project.

I genuinely think Tarzan vs Predator is a good cross over. Jungle setting, heat, hunting in the world of dinosaurs, predator vs a human who survived his entire life in the wild. Lee Weeks art. It's cheesy, but it's good cheesy imo. Definitely an unexpected and interesting crossover. I love Tarzan and Predator though lol

You guys should look at Klaus Janson’s The DC Comics Guide to Penciling Comics! It’s a really great book with tons of insight on how he approaches penciling and how he advises others. Could make a neat vid!

What about Deathmate??? I know you've jokingly mentioned it before, is it worth a look??? I remember picking it up as I was into some image titles at the time but had always dismissed Valiant comics as B-listers and not worth reading. But after seeing Deathmate I felt that there was something intriguing about the Valiant style. Maybe it was just that it was different from the whole Image barrage. It felt foreign. And I kinda liked it. Never ended up picking any Valiant titles though. I'm interested to know what's the Kayfabe take on it all. =^x^=

I think JLA / Avengers is a great Crisis-style mega story with impeccable work by the late great George Perez. Dredd / Batman is fun and the Byrne DC/Marvel crossovers are also quite good. Some of the Alien ones are worth checking out, like Superman / Aliens for example. Other than that I hope you guys will take a look at Spawn / Wildcats at some point, it might be the worst comic I've ever read and since it was written by Alan Moore, I assume it was terrible on purpose, and basically just a thinly veiled insult, lol. It's truly a hilarious read.

Warren Ellis always did great crossovers, which, in some cases, actually altered the status quo of the characters/books, like in WildC.A.T.S/Alien which (big spoiler!!!) killed off the Stormwatch team and paved the way for The Authority. The WildC.A.T.S/X-Men one-shots were great and had terrific art talent, the Golden Age one by Travis Cherest is extraordinary. But I think my favourite Ellis crossover is Planetary/Batman, it's just a huge amount of fun.

One of my favorite books of that era. The story had been done but it was done here again to well to middling results. It certainly was one of those Batman fever dream stories which I love. That art was spectacular. Klaus Janson is a name that should be on more people's tongues. There is a moodiness to that art that few can replicate. Some of the best art of Miller and JRJr was inked by Janson.

How about the early years of image comics, when Wildcats Vs YoungBlood, I will never forget when Maul said, "The Big Beat Down" or when Cyber Force Vs Wildcats or how about X-Men had their first encounter with the Avengers in the early 80's "way" before "X Vs A"

I remember these days, so many crossovers! These marketing ploys worked on little 10 year old me for sure! It always blew my mind when different companies' heroes were in the same book. Funny thing, though, I don't remember anything about any of these other than the covers. Nothing memorable I guess.

I remember being shocked at how bad this comic was. IMO it is virtually unreadable. Todd put out his thing and I loved the art, but the writing was very weak. I figured DC would at least be able to create a more compelling story. But this was just awful. It's like... did they even try? You can't even throw in the Joker or Violator or something? Croatoan?!?! It's embarrassing.
