After watching the whole episode, this scene makes a lot more sense. Evil Morty went back for our Morty, not because he cares (he absolutely does not care about any of them) he only returned for Morty because he was planning on using him for the swap to catch Rick Prime off guard. Tbh, i don't think the new voices are so bad, they are just a bit different. Also wanted to note how in the end of the episode, when rick and morty return home, we hear the same music as the one in season 1's Cronenberg episode, except this time, we see rick. It really shows how hollow and scared rick is rn, like morty was in that episode.

The only question about Evil Morty that hasn’t been answered is why and how he got so smart. I’m suspecting it has something to do with the crystals like in the first episode. This version of Morty must have kept the crystal that made him smart while the others didn’t

I think that through his adventures he has learned how to use Rick's tech. Prime Morty can use the weapons of Rick pretty easily. So it isn't a stretch that evil Morty started looking into how it worked and started making his own. Not to mention, he added to that knowledge by downloading all the Rick's brains.

He use the same smart seeds Rick uses. Remember we see them in S1 stealing seeds so Rick can keep his super intelligence and in the President Morty episode during the speech we see them harvesting mass quantities of seeds

I think it's something his Rick did out of lazyness. Sure evil Morty made the eye patch but it seems to connect to wires in his eye socket already & I doubt he gave himself surgery. His Rick probably gave him that to upload information he needed Morty to know for their adventures. I bet he just figured out how to use ricks mind downloading tech on some adventure where his Rick used it. Then all he needed was to put the pieces together.

We've all seen that even prime Morty can be a formidable force if he wanted to. He has changed a lot since episode 1. The episode with the death crystals, and Narnia being my best examples. He was beast moding the entire time.

Evil Morty’s Rick crying out about wanting to be killed way back really rings the nostalgia as to how it connects to the current flow of events. Evil Morty’s Rick may have been an especially toxic and exploitive version, so it would make sense on why that Morty became evil. I may be a bit backlogged, but I didn’t really notice the difference in the VA’s of Rick and Morty. Perhaps it’s auto-tuned, or the actors themselves are doing a good impression that makes it hard to notice.

With how smart Evil Morty is it makes you think Rick intentionally keeps him out of school to not get too smart. Those seeds in episode one that made Morty "smarter" didn't give him knowledge, he already knew Pi to a large decimal place to give the square root and already knew the laws of Thermodynamics. He was also able to reprogram that Rick Prime bot to fire missiles so he is smarter than he acts

Thing is evil Morty was shown to mass harvest the smart seeds in the show. It’s possible he’s been using these the whole time. We don’t really know the extent to the seeds or how they work. Only that Rick also abuses them to help with his science. So maybe this version of Morty has been doing the same for a long time and then went into over drive when he became president morty.

My favorite part of the ties between the series and this episode is when it premiered: It being season 7 episode 5 means that there is only a quarter of the series left, and now that Rick achieved his ultimate goal in this episode, he is figuring out what his life will be after this huge contained thread. Just like the series, he needs to figure out what to do with the time he has left.

Dude, this Morty is very different from the Morty we know, he’s a Rick level genius. The jig was up for me when I saw him soldering something in his room. That let us know this Morty had an interest in electronics, enough to keep soldering irons and other tools in his room. I doubt our Morty knows (or even cares) what a Soldering iron is. It’s established that he’s pretty dumb.

Given the nature of the multiverse, both mathematically and practically given that all possibilities are eventualities, I think it's fair to say that our Morty is the diametric opposite of Evil Morty, just as Main Rick is the opposite of Rick Prime. Both sets have equivalent potential but it's expressed in opposing ways. So Our Morty could be just as capable as Evil Morty, but won't become him, instead chosing to stay and helping Rick and being with his family.

Ok now it makes bit more sense about dead wife. Prior to this episode it was always strange that Rick wasnt able to bring wife back. Just look at the abilities he had: time travel, clones, new reality, back ups and list goes on but if she got wiped out of existence that makes things bit more difficult although I am still not sure is there reason why he cant clone her from lets say strand of hair that was left by her etc.

I just watched seasons six and seven a few days ago, honestly id say season seven was great. Sure the voice actors changing was different but it doesnt take away from the show. 7-10 was probably my favorite episode to date, such a mindfuck. Seasons 4&5 and part of 3 felt kinda lame overall but they really brought it back with the latest season. The president and dr wong episode wasnt fantastic but hey the rest was great

In this part, the series showed the audience how Evil Morty changes when he sees indifference as a caring person, and in the rest of the series, it showed that the concepts of good and evil depend on the point of view with the "And they call me Evil Morty" part, I could not blame Evil Morty while watching it, because he cared incredibly about Rick. Even if he wanted to do something unusual (entering a creature's ass jdjd), he was doing it because he wanted it, but he saw that it was just a tool for Rick, so he changed, the reason was right.

The series might feel a bit different because morty is growing, note in this season Morty starts going on solo mission and takes initiative like in the spaghettis episode and when he sells galactic drug, but Morty being Morty messes up still. I think the producers wanted to show these changes of a growing morty and hence decided to change the voice actors

I think Rick is more inventor smart and Evil Morty is more: “I put in the work to learn and don’t sh*t over science.” I mean, even Doof Jerry could beat Rick simply by not being drunk 24/7, suffering from old age, and just generally suffering the consequences of his own way of life.
