Great content as usual Lee congratulations on winning the Nissan micra, they were very nippy in there day,I served my time on them back in the late 80s with AFG Drivers in Glasgow, so easy to work on, we could change a clutch start to finish in 30min, the only thing they were bad for was the handbrake cables seizing up which you could take them off grip them in a vice spray loads of duck oil into them vice grip on each end and work them free, just brought lots of memories flooding back, definitely be purchasing a few raffles tickets as we know the cars will be spot on,thanks Lee 👍

Still watching, so haven’t got to the raffle yet, but another good idea for a raffle would be a £5000 credit note. They come and choose whatever car they want on the car pitch and get any change in cash. I bet so many people would be tempted for that because they could get exactly what they need/want. Just an idea but I think a bloody good one 😅

I actually have a Lancia Delta HF TURBO Lee! Iv got the 1.6 Turbo right hand drive version i bought it brand new in 1988 and i still have it. It's now got 42,000 original miles on the clock backed up by a full Fiat service history! Fiat being the main dealers that took on servicing for Lancia in the 90s. Its never ever seen a single drop of rain and has never had so much as a rust bubble on it. It's never failed an Mot since it's very first one and is in concorse condition. It is white with the Martini factory livery on it. I also have a 1987 D registered Renault Fuego Turbo that I also bought brand new and that has 58,000 original miles on the clock backed up by a full Renault service history. This car has also never seen the rain and is in concorse condition. I also have a 1993 Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 that I bought brand new and this car has 22,000 original miles on the clock backed up by a full Ford service history and is in concorse condition. I also have a 1994 Ford Escourt RS Cosworth Big Turbo that I bought second hand when the car was 3 months old, it currently has 16,000 original miles on the clock backed up by a full Ford service history and is in concorse condition. And my favourite cars is the car i drive everyday, it's old it's a bit knocked about, but it's a work/family car and that's my 2014 Ford Mondeo estate diesel, I bought it brand new and it's now got 347,000 miles on the clock backed up by a full Ford service history. Oh and iv just replaced the wife's old Suv for a new Land Rover Defender!!!

I had a 954cc 205 GE - Bobby basic - keep fit windows, narrow tyres the lot. Keeping momentum was the thing. Near where I lived at the time was a couple of mini roundabouts ......... barrel into them at 25mph and a few flicks of the (unassisted) steering and come out at 24mph and you felt like Schumacher - it was such a fun car - slow but fun

That 205 was great for the money and would have been a popular raffle prize. It's the luck of the draw in auction order. You'd already made your purchases. If you waited for the Pug it would've gone for silly money - it's Sod's Law !

I like that red mini too, my first car when I passed my test at 19 in 1986 was a mini HL, loved it. A neighbour has a red cooper like the one you purchased, but it’s literally rusting away in on his driveway, crazy.😂

Watch the wheel trims on the micra when removing them and putting them back on,they are extremely brittle and easy to crack,from experience 👍

When your colleague said "I'm walking away!" about the Rover 200, I laughed my head off, I'd have done the same thing!! My Sister had a red Micra like that one. Used and abused. Passed onto my Dad to use who described the faults as a death trap. Brakes, handbrake not good. Used to use the brake and handbrake to stop! Parked up at his flat and it's end was when someone decided to smash the windscreen. Scrapped! My favourite has been My 1989 Volvo 240 GLT Auto estate and Current 1996 Volvo 940 lpt estate. Also like Lexus LS400 and 430, but never owned one.

Amazing buys! I had exactly the same Micra, but an auto, and in far worse condition, (£180, bought of the side of the road,) just to run the dog to the forest in! Brilliant thing. Bloomin' bullet-proof. Four years hard service, eventually scrapped it for £85 when it ran out of metal to weld to underneath! Gutted! Still miss it! More strangely, my g/f (now wife of 20 years!) had a red Cooper at the same time - fab car, so much fun. (Few holes in the subframe tbf, so occasional wet feet, but otherwise a real gem!) Ahhh, them were the days! lol! Top vid, really enjoyed that, thank you!

I love the 205. Had a 1.0xe H reg as my first car. It got nicked in Salford by some scrotes and they trashed it. 😢 Then moved on to a J reg 1.8td. What a blast. Wish i still had them both!

I had aTalbot Horizon back in the late 80s can’t remember the reg but it was in two tone green paintwork. Sure it was a 1.5 manual and had a tendency to jump out of first gear now and then. Quite a good car but eventually the tin worm claimed it.

Bit surprised you bought the red Mini cooper a real rust box according to MOT history obviously been completely renovated but I would have gone for the pale green one which wasn't rusty at all. The 205 handles like it's on rails that would've been my choice never owned one but I did have a 405 which was similar, great car.

That Micra is worth every penny - a lively owners club exists or if you just want a daily driver you can rely on thats gold plated - as you say when Nissan or Datsun made decent cars - my ex-father-in-law went from a 60's Beetle to a brand new Micra 1litre LS in 1985 and he was astounded

If, you were able to snag a Peugeot 105 with the Diesel engine in same it would provide some serious sport for a Classic car as the, Diesel Engine would give great mid range Torque for getting down the road that, plus no,''Money Lights'' going off for a pastime...but i' am sure they would be a rare as Hen's Teeth...

do you mean the 106, the 105 was made in the 1910's. The 106 did come with a 1.5d and turbo model aswell, your right a TD 106 would be a great little car. We ran a 106 standard diesel some years ago as a work vehicle, it was brilliant

That 1992 Nissan micra 1.0 LS in red was the exact same first new car I bought in 1992. It was a great wee car until my ex smashed it up in a drunken crash.

I've used autodoc for years , they have all the brands, HOWEVER, a word of warning, as the parts are being shipped from Germany, the parts take at LEAST a week to arrive, and if the courier says the parts have been delivered , and you haven't received them, be prepared for a 3-4 week wait for your parts to be replaced or a refund, this has only happened to me once, but forewarned is forearmed😊

It's all relative - The Car Warehouse has jacked up its prices for Japanese reimport Mins to £12/£16k.... Seems odd to have sold the red Mini without the readily available grille hockeysticks.

Talbot Horizon was my 1st car back in the late 80’s. VEC225V I think 🤣 ‘Car of the year in 1980’! Paid £650 and later chopped it in for a Mk5 Cortina. Bad move, but not my worst. Horizon was much better. Done a lot of miles in the Horizon even on my provisional 😱 🤣🤣 One trip to the seaside a clutch pipe burst. Hydraulic fluid everywhere. Fixed it at the roadside. Wouldn’t have a clue with fixing a modern car.

I did think about a cheeky bid on the Audi RS4 that went through on the Sunday but one of my small remaining sensible parts of my brain was activated.
