Haha, so funny this one. Exact copy of my €350 GP. Bought it, stood for about a year, moldy, non airco and also the generator seized. Tip, just put a spanner on the generator, poor diesel in it so it gets greasy and turn it. It will unseize! Realy, GP is so easy to work on, cheap parts, it is cheap motering at the best, even more better when you can do some things yourself.

Should just scrap it as putting a new gearbox in would be like £700 and you will need a clutch at the same time , the body work to repair would be a few hundred quid too , so when all done you may get £200 profit but is it worth it ? I mean come on mate its a Shiate I mean Fiat excuse my bad Italian LOL I used to have the same car only had 76thousand on the clock and gearbox went luckily back in 2017 i only paid £600 for it so just scrapped it after a year of use and got £400 in scrap but moral is do not buy a Fiat they are part of the Chrysler group not exactly known for reliability or quality even Americans wont buy Chrysler

Little way off on the numbers on the numbers on this one christine, a clutch and gearbox will be less than £200-£250 done should leave plenty to sort out paint and early numbers looking like there is a £1k--£850 profit potential done, accounting for some hidden issues along the way. I had a Punto from new and over 10 years, never had anything major go wrong. I gave it to my niece and she managed to write it off in less than 3 months! She rear-ended a 4x4! They have an unjustified poor reputation because they are simple cars to get you from A to B. They might not have the panache of an Alfa ( or a Maserati!) but they are on the whole reliable and cheap and that makes for a car that has good resale value because it doesn't take much to keep them in good working order.
