@Darren-pq5oc You should have taken it to trading standards. Dealerships have to provide warranty by law , comes under trading standards, separate to the finance underwritten by insurance firms. If it was bought with any finance they can often get all their money back if there is any chance the problem could have been there at time of purchase. Emphasis on could.

Once called a customer who'd said he was looking for a specific motorbike, colour and price. I found the exact bike he wanted and he came down an argued about price despite it being under his budget, left in a huff and I sold it ten minutes later. He came back after a half hour and was outraged it was sold " you knew I wanted it" he shouted. It was great.

you're just seeing one side of this. You have to understand how much of a cowboy outfit this is. They have a car with a long list of pending works and no MOT. They wait for a buyer to come and pay a deposit and then they fix the car up and MOT it. This reeks of a cowboy outfit. This is not some specced to order car. the car is unroadworthy. A deposit should be taken with a guaranteed delivery date. Nobody wants to pay a deposit for a 10 year old meriva and wait a month to get the bloody car.

But I've just been shafted buying a used car without MOT beforehand and they said it would come with a 12 month MOT. It did come with an MOT but turns out it was a friendly MOT. The back suspension is leaking (air suspension) and the back brakes look quite low and the wear sensor has been disconnected.

I think it's really cheeky to take a deposit for a car that is not ready to sell and might not be ready to sell. It's one way security for the seller. Who tricxked a 70 year old into paying it without a guarantee of an availability date,

Li, good to see the little NY-Taxi got a feature. I can see its very tricky striking a balance between the quick turn-arounds and clearing all that dead wood. 40 years ago when I was in the car game we literally used to have a cull a few times per year and stick all the dead wood to auction with no reserves just to make space. not an easy thing to do when you look at each car and say "I can make £100 on that one as is" "we can trade this one on for a quick £50" "if we use this as a breaker we'll scrape a profit on spares" etc etc. in the end its all dead money and that money can be recycled back into new good stock. admittedly, back then money was expensive and difficult to borrow.

Shout out to you, Lee. You’re an old school grafter, don’t mind a bit of hard work. The used car business at this price point is the ultimate test of pragmatism. There are margins to have but they’re small, even on a good day. Volume is all very well, and has to be the way, but with that comes a cumulative exposure to warranty claims. On top of that is the mind bending challenge of remembering where everything is and knowing the clock is ticking on them all. All that said, it’s a lot more interesting than a late letter business.

Also imy Fiat 500 is a 2013 Lounge version i had to change the clutch and gearbox bearings and have just had it serviced , best offer i got from a dealer was £2500 and its only on £85 thousand so yeah a 2009 version you may be lucky if you get that £2 grand back but lots of young girls usually buy them so you might get lucky , Im just holding onto mine for now as no point selling a car thats all been fixed and losing £1000 as i paid £3 grand for it then had to pay near £500 out of my own pocket for repairs as the dealer would not cover the full cost of repair.

I told you he would in your last video about this elderly gentleman. And it’s because I understand pensioners behaviour when they come kicking off it’s because they they misunderstand that tge mot won’t be done prior to sale - so they think they’re being ripped off, get scared they’re being taken advantage of again, panic, go all guns blazing to put on a display of authority not to be messed around with and demand their deposit back. So I actually predicted that the guy would come back and buy it once you gave him a calm reassuring explanation of the buying process. Old people can’t take in too much verbal info at once, can’t remember details or conversations well and don’t read small print. Just go gently with our pensioners, they have a hard time and are sometimes suffering from cognitive decline, memory loss and deafness as well as mental health issues/dementia/stroke and generally feeling vulnerable. You speak very very fast mate, my 80 year old dad wouldn’t understand or remember what the hell you are saying from one minute to another. I reckon this guy was same and just needed reassurance and proof of mot and a bit of gentle support 🥹 Everyone of you lot in the comments having a dig at the guy obviously don’t have elderly parents with stroke issues and early dementia. You’ll all be old and confused one day yourself so stop being so quick to judge.

I had customer who was fridge repair and 2nd hand sales. Told tale he sold a fridge to a chap, who complained it didn't work. So he went to chaps home and showed him how to switch it on. Then buyer said, i don't like it. Ended up with police arriving and they said just take it and give the guy his money. the rio im surprised a clutch at only 60k, my i20 the clutch lasted 100k miles and was on the original, i had the same thing it was good when cold i had 3 hour drive there and back to an appointment i decided country lane way so it had bit work on way back it must got to hot it was slipping like crazy for the last 15-20 miles and what a smell i got home but parking up it looked like it was dumped no way i was risking re adjusting normally the car has be be correct or i even start up and make it look neat a bit ocd but this time i got it on slight angle within the yellow lines i was not going to risk backing up as next door car was close ish so i left it as it was slipping and more slipping and bite a bit you could not risk parking close to someone. funny thing about week later the drive to garage it worked fine, sailed through mot with no advisory and few days later he took it for bit race as soon it got hot it do the same. total bill for a service an mot and new clutch kit fitted was £500 so overall i happy with that, of course you could do it cheaper but customer taking car to garage that not a bad price ive seen far worse quotes, was once quoted that for a back box i told them where to go and found one for £120 just as good and sounds slightly better. mines on 1.2 so a weaker clutch but mine managed 100k so must had a driver who was not bad at driving not an old lady riding the clutch

I got my Vivaro off them years ago and they have always serviced and MOT’d it for me. They have always been fine with me. When I bought it, any niggles etc were sorted out and I’ve had repairs over the years done there also.

It’s actually Blackrod, not Adlington. Come off the M61 at Junction 6, Keeping left for Chorley. At the A6 roundabout turn right. At the speed camera, keep in the right hand lane to remain on the A6. Go down the bypass, turn right at next lights where the Ridgway pub is. Don’t go fast else you will miss the next turn. Cross the railway bridge then immediate left ( easy to miss ) through the gates, onto the cobbles & he’s on the left opposite the pallet yard.

i don't follow the crowd but (if) i was in market for a fiat funny thing is id take the panda over 500 even tho basically they same car near enough. always quite like the panda but never got one cause not a best rep on them well that also goes for the 500 as well. but saying that 20 years ago my mates dad had fiat estate 1.6 twin cam it went very well over 110 on top mountain on back road he mad driver and still the mount abuse he gave the car it was very good , he also had the uno think its called that rotted like crazy so it looks like very hit and miss with fiat's you could get a good one or one cost you arm and leg as in garage a lot. panda i really do like those 4x4 ones the first gen and the 2nd gen after that not so much as it seems smaller engines and the 2nd gen you could get diesel so mega mpg when they working good

We had a low mileage one last year we did up and sold, this is another one with 21k on that needs work, I will sort it at some point. It does not owe a lot of money
