Nice concise video; good luck with the new car. I recently traded in a Mustang V-6 and found that Carvana always offered more money than 3 local car dealerships--2 being Ford and 1 Dodge. I ended up, however, trading it at a Ford dealer due to the sales taxes reduction on the new vehicle. Carvana still would of been more money, but a little less convenience in my case.
@GasSmileage3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting! What did you trade in the mustang for?
@AStanton19663 жыл бұрын
@@GasSmileage I traded up to a 2020 Mustang GT Kona blue with back accent base trim. I'm sure you get why someone wants to leave a V-6 and go to a V-8. I went back and forth trying to decide between a Scat Pack or the Mustang GT. I settled on the Mustang because of accessories I had for the V-6 like an extra set of wheels, wheel locks, and jacking rails. I too thought about a Hellcat. But right now the 5.0's 460 ponies is more than enough for me.

Congratulations on the upgrade! Going from V6 to V8 is a heavenly experience haha. Other than the motor, what’s the biggest difference since upgrading?
@AStanton19663 жыл бұрын
@@GasSmileage I went from a base trim V-6 to a base trim V-8. The biggest difference is the color and the black accent package. I also picked up the backing sensors and those are nice. I would say another difference is my attitude. Now that I have 460HP, I realize that everything can turn to ice cream real quick. And I'm finding myself with a lesser desire to stomp on it. I no longer have to show that I got a car that can get up and go.

Found my Jeep Rubicon on Carvana. Wanted a manual, which I found wasn't easy to find in the Rubicon trim level locally. Found a 2016 manual with only 7,300 miles and figured I would give it a go. Other than delivery being delayed a couple of times (was buying from outside my market) the whole process was great. Got the same finance rate as Jeep offers on a new Wrangler and traded my Range Rover Sport in at the same time. Would recommend as well, especially if you are looking for a specific vehicle.

I know this video is almost 2 years old and you may not see this. But I see at the time of this video your cat had 21k miles on it. As someone who is wanting to purchase a Hellcat soon, I’m looking to go used since I don’t think I can afford brand new, what is your opinion on buying a used Hellcat? I don’t see myself buying one with over 25k miles tbh unless it was some grandpa who drove it like a minivan (highly doubt there’s a Hellcat out there like that). What do you think is “too high” of mileage.
@GasSmileage2 жыл бұрын
I’m in a Hellcat group on Facebook and you’d be surprised at how many used hellcats there are with less than 10k miles. I purchased it with 13k but I’d suggest finding one from a responsible owner. I have reason to believe the first owner of my hellcat wasn’t very easy on it when it should have been broken in properly. I experienced a ton of oil consumption but brakes get replaced around 30k but other than that there shouldn’t be any major replacement maintenance until you get to 50k+. The best thing you could do is get an extended warranty through mopar. Awesome car but you’ve got to pay to play - it’s expensive and although built tough, if you have fun with it you’ll undoubtedly run into extra costs. You only live once though :)

If you’re buying for from Carvana or Carmax I would get your vehicle completely checked out top to bottom by extremely qualified mechanic before keeping it. It seems that a lot of vehicles they sell have been worked over good raced modified then spit shined and put on their website. I know for a fact carmax gets a lot of vehicles that most dealerships would not be willing to put on their lots. Unless it’s still under manufacturer warranty the warranties both of them sell are terrible and a pain to use if you have mechanical issues.

Start building credit with a credit card as soon as you possibly can. Never miss a payment. I only buy on a credit card what I could afford to pay straight cash for but I like to have a buffer between my money and purchases. Make sure utilization rate stays below 10%, meaning if you have 10k in credit, don’t use more than 1k of it. The length you have a credit card without late payments is one of the biggest things. Take advantage of cards with cash back - doesn’t help your credit per say but it’s free money. They’re counting on you messing up and being irresponsible, don’t be because interest will bend you over. Don’t open too many cards at once, start small and slow like only using it for gas or groceries. That’s all I got for now, do some more research and you’ll be golden. Good luck! This is one of my favorite cards with cash back - I use it for food/entertainment purchases. Here’s my SavorOne referral link: capital.one/3cpNqam
