Thank you very much for this... and on a hobby/learning cnc like mine! I'm subscribed to Maker+ learning as much as I can. Please keep these videos coming!

Outstanding! Thanks for this alignment video. Now I can justify adding the laser to my Elite CNC order :-O

10 hrs to machine..? I don’t know if it is possible with this program version bud it would be great if you could make a tutorial about rest machining. Instead of doing the whole relief with a 4 mm endmill and 1 mm ball nose you can save a lot of time (probably 50%) by using a larger bits. 6 mm roughing, 3 mm ball nose finishing and 1 mm rest machining for the details of the bird.

Very nice & great positioning on the wood grain looks like the bird had landed on a pond, water ripples! Can I ask what CNC machines you use for the demo's & office?

Hi John, we have a SainSmart 3018 & 3018 Prover, Oozenest Workbee and Onefinity waiting to be unboxed.

Very nice machines. I wouldn't let machine languish in a dusty box, guess you'll rectify that problem once lockdown eased some more!

Awesome video Leighton as usual. Would that be considered a 3D? I upgraded from maker to plus. Wow so much more to learn. Cheers Mark

Hi Mark. Thank you! Yeah, this would be considered a 3D Relief. Although nothing has actually been modelled, the finished product is a 3D Relief.

Wow, there are so many models in your library, where to find them? I dwonloaod from the link in the Carveco maker.
@Carveco2 жыл бұрын
That is the default library in Carveco Maker. The bird is from cnclipart.com

When you go to load this into the machine, do you load each tool path separately or does it load all of them? If it loads all of them, does it stop when the bit needs to be changed? Thank you!
@Carveco3 жыл бұрын
This was done on a Sainsmart 3018. All the toolpaths were loaded one at a time. Once the toolpath has finished and the spindle has stopped, load the next toolpath, change the tool, reset the Z height for the new tool and then go again. Some machines will go to a position for you to change the tool and then carry on or even have an automatic toolchanger where it would do everything automatically.

Hi Leighton. I am trying to repeat the same. As relief I have STL file which is needed in my project (do not have Carveco file as you have in this tutorial) and I see importing this accordingly into dish (successfully done - Maker) I see it in yellow just from beginning not blue and some steps seems to be different like positioning height etc or maybe I am doing something wrong.
@marekwaczynski38943 жыл бұрын
OK. Problem solved (I hope so) by saving stl as carveco file and now I am on the same page as you are on tutorial.

Do I understand that this can only be done in the Carveco plus? The video states Carveco. I am using the 90 day trial so maybe that’s why there is no clipart?
@Carveco2 жыл бұрын
You need to download and install the relief clipart library. See the getting started guide on our website or kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4XHY4CJr5iirNU

I am using a HP laptop, one issue I have is that in order for the f9 to work, I have to use the “FN” and the f9 together or the computer wants to change the volume. Also, I have to use Twiddle to move the 3D around, when looking at the side view of the 3D, I do not have the arrow to change the height or depth of the shape. Please explain how to correct. Thank you
@Carveco3 жыл бұрын
I would drop support@carveco.com a message Julie. The arrow to change the height is concerning since it normally means there is a problem with graphics drivers or the graphics card isn't up to spec.

There were several things that I learned from this video that I really didn't understand from any of the standard tutorials. Thank you for taking the time to explain and demonstrate so clearly. Is there a Carveco Maker way to have text on the curved surface of the plate? Or, is that only achievable with Maker+ ?
@Carveco3 жыл бұрын
It is really a job for Carveco Maker+ really Frank. But, you could get creative and cut the text out of a relief, then export that out as an stl. Then import back into Maker and then add the dish.
@garymerrill42442 жыл бұрын
Is it possible make a dish of an irregular shape like, say, the top of a violin?
@Carveco2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, you would need Maker+ in order to create something like that. This is showing how to bring in an existing relief that can be modified to an extent but you would not be able to modify it as much to make an irregular shape.

Can you add a image to the dish?
@Carveco3 жыл бұрын
Sure Robert. Import the image first, modify it as you wish then import the dish from the clipart library.
