Drove one of these around Monaco back in 2004 - initially following the inventor/owner of the company. An absolute hoot - drove thru Casino Square everyone stares down thru the Gas Station hairpin overtaking some astonished motorcyclists who just parked up and watched. So so much fun.

Yeah, controlling the tilt with the steering mechanism is a huge mistake. It should be controlled by gravity level. In that case, a cup holder would work just fine.

I remember seeing a similar bike like this probably over 20 years ago on a TV Show called Beyond 2000. Except it was a two wheel version, and it costs $100,000. It was being developed by a man in Switzerland.

As a longboarder, I'm quite familiar with the ground at road speeds. Recently got an electric one but this three wheeler for sure interests me. I play some flight sim and have never realised the similarity with carving until you said that but it sure is similar.

For me the lean has always been what's missing from that bike/car combo experience, or I would just stay with four wheels, so this thing looks like a hoot! I can think of a few of my old favourite roads where at night with the roof off this thing would feel like being in a dog-fight! Nicely done 🏆

It’s a damn sight easier to get a full car license than a full bike license in the UK. The reason these monstrosities are not in production is because they take up the same amount of road space as a useful small car. Wish it had two wheels up front even with the leaning. The leaning would put the weight in a better place than a traditional car, and the two wheels up front would almost double the braking power. We all know rear brakes are like 10-15% of the cars total braking. Having two wheels would allow for a little more robust front runner - I don’t doubt frequent front tire changes are necessary.

Right, that's the main problem. Expensive. Result? Nobody actually bought it. Let's hope the secondhand ones are getting into affordable price ranges. It is such a pitty that ALL concepts like this, are bound to end in a bankrupt. Developing such things is expensive, and rich potential customers simply kill it. They hesitate, until its faith is sealed. That happens all the time to any great new vehicle.

As a motorcyclist commuter, my experience says you rapidly acclimate. It only feels weird if it doesn't tilt. I tried to ride a trike motorcycle, and I was so unsure and freaked out. It scares the crap out of me.

@@minero1775 LOL. No, I also drive cars. What I'm saying is your body and brain rapidly acclimate, typically five to ten minutes. You know that feeling you get when you've been skating or ice skating, then stop? It feels weird for 10 minutes because your brain is used to moving a certain way. I've taught several people to ride passenger on motorcycles. Getting over that initial fear of 'falling' takes about 5 turns. Pretty soon you realize that the HARDER you've leaned over, the MORE stable the system has become. It's all physics. Leaning is far more stable than not, because you lower your center of gravity more the harder you lean, thus making it much harder to tip over. I do get it if it is not for you; I'm just proposing to not fear it because you've no experience with it or don't understand it. Stay neutral until you've tried it a few times--the brain is super adaptive and wants, no CRAVES to learn and do new things--well mine does.

Great to see this on British roads again. My favourite TG review was of the Ecomobile 2 wheel capsule with Jeremy sat in the back being driven by the lady owner very quickly.
