I have the Legacy II. Its a beautiful amp with beautiful tones. It does eq differently and can range in tones depending on guitars & pickups used. Its clearly targeted at more advanced players. I love my Legacy II.

If this amp is so good, why people not breaking there neck to get one?

Because people are a bunch of followers in society. Preamp by Ben Fargen, the best in the business.

Just as Steve said, I was big on guitar magazine porn as a young teen guitarist. I don't know that I ever had a magazine that didn't have the glorious one page Carvin ad. But growing up in Oklahoma City in the 70s and 80s, and Carvin being a factory direct product, the possibility of ever seeing one in town, much less playing through one. They were unobtainium. I now (at 48 years of age) have a Carvin V3 full stack. I absolutely love it! Living a dream, baby!

For a while there were audio demos and I’m so certain a video of either the first or second being demonstrated by vai but I cannot find it anywhere on KZbin. He even had presets he used and the coolest part was it showed different eq settings for different volumes as tube amps will respond differently depending on how they are being pushed.

younger generation Kiesel's destroyed it all now they produce fancy furniture guitars

That’s actually not true. The Carvin amplifier and pro audio division was run by an entirely different family member than Jeff Kiesel and from what he said they ran the business into the ground

@@daltonjobson8402 There was a distinct difference between Carvin guitars and Carvin pro audio before the split. I talked to a rep from Carvin guitars and told them that the website for the pro audio was a total piece of shit. Looked totally amateur. These days the pro audio division is just a shadow of its former self. They don't even answer the phone anymore, the recording just keeps referring to the website. Whoever ran the pro audio division, should have sold it to Jeff or someone else. In the 80's they had great amps, great mixers, great power amps....all there stuff was top notch. The collapse of Carvin pro audio was totally avoidable.

Sooooo.... random observation. Just watched this video and noticed after looking at my Legacy II that the two amps in this video are different. Is tit just me or does the amp on top have LED indicators for the stored or active knob positions (similar to my Kemper knobs)?. Is the top amp Steve's version and the bottom one the consumer version?

Why does the one legacy II have the power switch toward the left and on the other Legacy II it’s to the right???

So as I understand it, if the master volume is AFTER the preamp section, would that mean I could play it in my house without my power attenuator and still get adequate saturation and articulation instead of a ton of pre-gain compression?
@giovanniwitjamulia4678 жыл бұрын
+Justin King yes you can, but it won't make the power amp work so hard. most of tube amps sound good if we push the power amp section work harder, if we don't do that the sound become 'fizzy'.
