Thanks Matt. I love the idea of using tape to mix the glue. I’m always using small wood scraps, but I still manage to make a mess as it’s usually not stable or I knock onto my lap. This is a perfect solution.

Love this! I bet your mom loved this brooch! You mention *mushroom* type burr. A search brings up nothing for that. Is there an actual name for this style of burr? TY! 😀

Hi there. Am a weaver with limited carving experience, (hand tools/wet alder). Want to carve seasoned alder with rotary carving tools for lids. Proper choice of woods?

My friend just taught me how to use an axe on green alder to make a cup. I haven't carved seasoned alder. I tend to to approach different woods with a give it a go attitude and see if I like it. 👍 my personal favorite wood to carve is black walnut.
