My carvings never end up being what they start out as but I love it . Trying to get more realism in my projects now . Always wear a glove , I have had a nasty bleed lol 👍

What Timbers do you carve? I am from Oz also.

@@chrisstewart1863 Only just started carving. 1st 3 pieces were radiata pine. Very chippy and hard to do fine details. Next was a wood spirit carved in laminated beam. Most the timber I have is pine and Jarrah. Currently doing a figurine in jarrah. Will be some more on my channel this week. Where abouts are you.?

Hi Alec; This is an excelent piece of art work. I love that you left some of the rough bark on the sides. I think that will increase the price of the piece if you sell it. The extra time spent in the detail of the hat will pay dividends in the sale price as well. Really great work.
