Where were the serious problems? Everything they mentioned are common “any car” problems at those miles. Also, if you can’t afford the maintenance don’t buy one. Some of us can afford the luxury. No need to judge people based on their budget. If we even cared of what you drive, I’m sure we’d get a nice laugh too. 🤭

When you drive a $100000 car (initial cost), don't expect the maintenance cost to fade away at the same rate as the residual value.

So what is the purpose of this video ?! Wanna proof that w221 v8 are bad ? From what i see this was a neglected car and the recommended maintenance procedures were not done right or not done at all in some cases

Ah bull wizard. Stop ripping ppl off. These parts at pull apart are cheap. These leaks are common on all cars. Keep the oils topped and will run for years and years

Overly dramatic. A couple of hoses, engine mounts, transfer case seal and mount and front driveshaft. Strut. Couple of grands if you know where to go. The rest of the car is good. Not a biggie.

If I bought a car like that for $10k and it took another $12k to get it sorted, I would have nothing to cry about. They are mightty fine automobiles.

Most of these around today are owned by people who bought them for $10-$20K. No maintenance other than oil changes. Used till something breaks.

My 08 S550 4matic has 281k miles. Still runs like a champ! But is properly maintained.

The W221 is one of very few Mercedes that are actually nice enough to deal with their maintenance/repair costs. They're spectacular cars to drive and insanely comfortable.

I was driving my Dad's S320 and the alternator went out. Dealer cost? $625 Got the alternator rebuilt for $215. Still expensive, but not horrible. Installed myself so no labor, but I had to disconnect the sway bar to get the alternator out then in, adding more labor if you're paying for it.
