We're starting with a trip all the way back to 1885 to the first car to hit 1hp, through to present day to the most powerful production car in the world - which puts down an insane 2,000hp!

I'm sure it's possible to build a 5000hp car, but what kind of tyres are you going to need to use all that power to its full potential? What a gearbox, as well? AND WHY?! Complexes? I personally would prefer if car manufacturers built better cars instead of stronger cars. The McLaren F1 was the only car in this list that combined both.

Seems to me that beyond 500 bhp in a 1500 kg car the fun factor reduces at a rate of knots. Give me a Porsche GT3 over a Bugatti Chiron any day of the week.

@@noisyboy971 power is torque x rpm. Essentially, torque is twisting force. The amount of turning force exerted upon the crankshaft. Power is this force over time. People often times think torque is the one that really matters, but they are misguided. Horsepower intrinsically includes torque, meaning the only way to have higher horsepower is to increase torque or RPM. A car can have high torque and lower power, such as diesel trucks. Torque is nothing if you can’t sustain this twisting force over time

BMW M5 Competition does that if u de restrict it Mercedes E63S AMG would do the same aswell as an Audi RS6 and all them cars are around 600-625 BHP you can get 200mph from family cars such as the above I've mentioned

Thats due to the limitations of the last gear in the transmission relative to the car redlined in that last gear. You could easily slap a few extra gears on and as long as the aerodynamics are right so the car simply stays om the ground at 200+mph then you could probably get up to 300mph. Theres a few other factors and variables involved, but those are the basics of why "200mph seems slow for 2000 hp" on the surface, sure anybody anybody, myself included just doesn't seem right, too slow. You're welcomeeeeeee :)

My favourite supercar of them all since mid 90s. Probably the first street legal car to hit 400 kph, and that's with 'just' 730 hp. Plus, they said the 962 LM could be switched into 850 hp mode with a flick of the switch, I don't know whether that's true or not.

Hi Matt, you could do a similar list but list the first cars to accelerate to 60mph within various seconds. We'll no doubt lol at the fact that no car could even reach 60 until 1920 and it took 30 seconds or something (you can probably tell I've done no research!). Then we'd climax (oh hello!) at the latest crazy models taking 2 secs to 60 (or whatever it is) 👍
