I completely disagree with Mat, and I watched almost all of his reviews, and I always disliked and disagreed with him on this matter, he always says trust me you don't need the 4WD version of this car, for all the cars. You all trust me I need 4WD, and a good one, may not be for off roading though, but for some snowy and steep uphills definitely, that's even why I'm watching reviews of these cars and/or SUV's that are available in 4WD.

Test drove all 3 cars. X3 for comfort and handling Glc for looks only, as to noisy in side cabin with no power and crapy gear shift position. Evoque for Looks, comfort and handling at a better price then the other 2 cars

I love all 3, but the boot is definitely a LOT smaller on the Evoque than the other two. (My mom has an Evoque, and it _is_ a great car to drive, but it's just that limited cargo space that kills it for me.) I drove an X3 for 3 years, and while those criticisms are probably fair, I *LOVED* it. Such a classy ride. Maybe not flashy, but really nice to drive. _Today,_ I'd probably choose the Benz with a Diesel engine (coming soon in the U.S., they say) for nice MPG. (TBH I _really_ want an F-Pace or Discovery Sport!) Looking in this segment for a nice new one next year.

The GLC and most non performance Mercedes in general are meant to remove stress from driving. I have a GTR for the crazy stuff, a convertible for the summer and a Mercedes for everything else. If I had one choice as a long daily driver it is difficult to fault the Mercedes approach.

The X3 can't hold a candle to the RR & the GLC. These 2 are quite different cars too tho and appeal to a different demograph so for me the only possible winner is GLC. Thats why I traded in my Lexus for one. The GLC is a superb car but also has that 3 pointed star to back it up.

The Evoque is the best looking car, 4 years after I got my coupe people still stop me to ask questions about it. Btw amazing on the snow. We have lots of that here in Canada and the car performs amazing. I love the car and it drives amazing. The sport mode makes it a lot of fun to drive on the highway and still looks and performs like the first day I got it. Range Rover did a great job here specially with the design and fuel economy.

Not to be ignorant of the global nature of the industry top to bottom, TATA own it but I'd still consider it a British company over all. We're not in the grip of the seventies now and our products stand up to their competitors. It's right to support ourselves as an industrial power and as a brand. Generally around the world people who just want a car that meets their needs do buy from their domestic markets. Of course we don't spend that £30,000 or there abouts purely on need. Needs would be met by a ten year old Honda CR-V for 10% of the cost of the cars here. We want a new car and we want that car to have the "right" image and numbers etc. But if it's coming down to small things like a slightly questionable fog lamp or ten litres in the boot then Supporting thousands of jobs and our economy (not that politics is a motive) seems far more important. Especially when every car is a rolling advert. Just my opinion on the matter.

Very wrong to support an industry for the sake of patriotism... look what happened in the US where they had a sudden wake-up call that lasted some 30 odd years... is it only now that some realize that buying domestic is the solution and not the reason of sub par R&D and taking advantage of the consumer? Look at how they succeeded in convincing people that good maintenance means changing the engine oil religiously at every 3000 miles, people to this day go by that number in the US and by 5000 km in Canada even though the maintenance reminder calls for numbers not known to them simply because the owner's manual stays unopened for years to come...
