The temptation to reach over and do 'something' (reinstall dummy) with the baby is always going to be high in such a situation. We all know with the traffic levels and phone zombie pedestrians walking out into your path, it could very quickly become lethal. Of course, the same can be said for any distraction.

Did a test drive yesterday and it was pretty nippy for a 1.0 engine. Love the tech. Though for an Audi I felt the cabin as a whole felt quite cheap. The lack of armrest as standard is a bit tight. It looks so empty without it. I decided it’s just too small a car for me. Plus price soon shots up when you add just some basic options. I’m going to save my cash and get a nearly new A3 1.5 S-line with technology pack. Which is pretty much the same price as this with the deals available out there due to new model coming soon.
@ddrodwell16 жыл бұрын
Sometimes entry level isn’t the cheapest option. I’ve got a new Audi TT and in reality it actually cost less than the new A1 with the deposit contribution they offered. The A1 is a stunning car but it’s worth checking out more expensive models first to see what the finance packages work out at. They may cost more but the gfv is higher and deposit contributions can be far larger so the actual amount you finance can be less. The irony that I’m going to struggle to pay less than I do now for a car further down the range. Worth noting :)

I am sorry Audi but that's just not working. You get way more for your money in every other small car from any other brand, even if the quality may not be as good as the Audis (Yet still plastics all round the car which usually causes the main reason for criticism with any other brand) I mean this is still the small car segment where people don't wanna spend loads of money, they just want a good looking practical city-car for everyday use and not pay a fortune. Absolutely way too expensive for a small car or any car this size. For 30k you get the next bigger car from any other brand with almost the same equipment. But I think thats just the badge people are paying for whatever reason.

Lenkrad you can get an A3 for this kind of money, the a1 has never been excellent but this one is a let down
@benjames54236 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I think Audi forgot that the A1 is in the same class as the Fiesta, Fabia and Polo.
@brian_mwaura6 жыл бұрын
It might be Audi's response to the Mini, but what works for that car is the value it gives, you get so much compared to this overpriced box that sadly will still be sold.
@wheresthelambsauce87056 жыл бұрын
I just can’t see it selling to people with a healthy budget because the competition in luxury hatchbacks is fierce anyway but when you can buy a low mileage and 6-12 month old TT or a Jaguar XE and the list goes on. It makes people rethink

You should know what you are looking for when you actually decide to buy a car one day and you only get that knowledge from driving around in different cars and experience visits at car repairs etc.

audi is the luxury brand of vw. not sure why everyone is complaining about the price. its simple: with the audi you pay a little extra for the brand and overall luxury feel and look of the car.

I have the 2019 S-Line model with the New 19 reg. It's the 2 litre, 200bhp, 40tfsi version and I have to say it's a bit of a pocket rocket. The clunky gear shifts at lower speeds are a bit of a nuisance but the sport dynamic mode will give you a gainly boost when you feel like flying. Plus, it was a mere 22K with all comfort pack but excluding the satnav. Pretty decent in the end, and looks like a mean-bean from the front, obviously ignoring the overdone plastics.

You are basically paying for them to enable software built into the car, I know a guy who is good with computers and he was tinkering with an Audi and discovered some of the things you pay extra for can be enabled if its a software based thing.
@philippsladek995 жыл бұрын
@@gravemind6536 of course, because it cuts down costs. While other manufacturers use that opportunity to give the customer more features for less money, audi locks them away and let's you pay extra for it. It is kinda sad really, especially people out there still trying to justify the price.

Cars in UK are dead cheap. In the NL it starts FROM 26K euro something like this would easily go over 35 maybe even hit 40 grand. I REALLY like this car, but the price is too much in NL. I'll wait for the Mazda 3.

@iTz_Simo-_- I actually like Audi. It is probably my favorite brand at the moment (it wasn't even close a few years ago) But It is too damn expensive. I expected this to start from around 20-22 thousand Euros but 26 is just ridiculous.
@Astke6 жыл бұрын
@iTz_Simo-_- Ah that can happen. Sad to hear. I currently got a 2016 VW Polo (facelift). Works really well and smooth. Not perfect but definitely good for a supermini. Drives even better than the 2016 Toyota Auris, that I had for a short while (Got some short time lease contracts). So first impressions of VW group are quite positive. That is why this Audi was so interesting. From 2019 I can finally get some long term lease contracts. So i will probably go for the new Mazda 3 hatch. What problems do you have with your A1? Honda Ckvic is a solid choice.
