Having lived with a Mk 7 Golf over the past few years, I can say I am looking forward to getting the A3 with its lack of a touch screen. Almost all new cars can be purchased with a touchscreen on the centre console but unless you're stationary, using the touchscreen is a pain. However with the A3 there is no reaching over and trying a thousand times to press the screen in the right place. It's just sit back and press a few buttons and swivel the knob. The one good thing about touchscreen is you don't need lots of buttons which is good for small cars. But the Golf is not a small car and has the space for the buttons like in the A3.

What golf were you thinking of getting? Fair enough the TDI's aren't very nice, but in my opinion the Golf GTD is just that bit nicer than the A3 S-Line. Don't get me wrong though the A3 is lovely, and you wouldn't be making a mistake buying it

Just bought my A3 (used) 1.5 TFSI Sport 5dr, petrol, manual. 2018. Love it… So smooth. My only gripes. So far can’t work out how to auto fold in my wing mirrors - surely you don’t have to do it manually? And…. No parking cam. It seems in this day and age, these are basic mod cons to have no? But it is a joy to drive! Ps. Slightly concerning Audi placed quite low on reliability! Hopefully mine will be ok….

What's the obsession with the big bottles? Most people drink out of 500ml bottles. I don't think it should be a negative if Sally, the yoga instructor, can't fit her big bottle in the door.
@Nekcip8 жыл бұрын
Its just general comfort. You need places to put things like your phone(exactly where I put mine as the rubber bottom keeps it still) or purse for the ladies. Better than trying to fit everything in the glove box or throw things on the passenger seat etc.

I have the 2015 A3 sedan, for me the car is a perfect blend of sport/comfort. Autox is dam fun in it, snow is no obstacle, bluetooth audio streaming is awesome, xenon headlights standard, real leather standard, great dual clutch tranny. I have little gripes with it here and there, but overall a fantastic little car. I can't wait for the 2017 with the new engine and 7 speed DSG!

A3 is by far the best car in its class. 1 series is also good, especially if you can get the M140i. And A-class (unless its A45) is just sad. I had an A-Class as a loan car and it was completely rubbish, way worse than cheaper VW Golf, maybe because its getting old now (A class interior is like from 1990s). The only thing which annoys me is that Audi still haven't released the facelifted version of the RS3 and the old one is no longer available for orders. Like wtf? If you stop producing the old model, you should start selling the new one immediately.
@Kinzicco8 жыл бұрын
It is called the M135i.
@johannesmaximilian8488 жыл бұрын
The A-class interior looks like from the 90s? Haha it may be the most futuristic one in this class. But the Golf interior really looks from the 80s.
@d07188 жыл бұрын
Kinzicco the old one is. The new one is M140i. I know what I'm talking about m8, I sell cars myself :)
@jackstar36538 жыл бұрын
The M135i has become the M140i. The new name doesn't indicate a swelling in engine size, but they do mark an increase in power. So it can produce 335bhp and 369lb ft, up 14bhp.

Agree with few points. S line with sport suspension gives a lot of tire noise inside. Auto gearbox is generally great although car isn't so smooth at lowest speeds, not sure if this is more due to gearbox or brakes. Seats are fantastic. Car is super easy to drive, but the flat bottom steering wheel annoying

I have the Golf GTD and I've rented this car too. I don't like where Audi have placed the buttons e.g. Near the handbrake so when you want to press them you have to look down and it's really dangerous. Yes after a couple of months you will learn but I personally don't like that. Also you feel squashed in the driving seat. Compared to the Golf GTD it's soooo much smaller. I also think it's rather boring inside. The Apple play system is brilliant, you can even connect your phone on google maps and this will load up on the screen whilst driving. Really surprised by this. Anyways good luck on what you decide to choose but in my opinion go Golf GTD 😝
