Mach E basically jumped every start, brake lights were out before her hands were down, Mustang GT waited for her hands to be completely down before leaving, while still making every race close if not a win. No replacement for good old V8 power in this race.

I can't stand it when non drivers do a standing burnout to launch. What an absolute useless way to launch a car. Please research any sort of launch control on any car going forward when you do these racing videos! The Mach-E GT has a 5 second power limit due to heat on the batteries that get's generated, but here's the thing, you can always make that Mustang GT faster ;) you're stuck with the performance of the Mach-E GT and can't improve it!

We raced my 21 Mach e GT Performance Edition against my 21 Shelby GT500 at Tulsa dragway 38°C air temp 54°C track temp. Mach e GT won 1st race 12.64 vs Shelby 12.80 spun through 4th gear. Shelby ran a 12.03 and 11.71 and the mach e Gt also ran quicker each pass: 12.56 & 12.48. Mach e has 10.5" wheels 295 35 21s on the rear...

Why is a "tuned" Mustang GT slower than every previous stock Mustang GT? It runs the same times as a manual GT whereas the auto on a non-prepped surface usually does 12.3-12.5 second quarters. What a bit pile of garbage these cars are. 500 horsepower lump of scrap iron Mustang and the best time it does is 12.8 seconds? Smashed all day long by any of the European super hatches- M240i, AMG A45 S, S3, Golf R etc. I bet it wouldn't even be able to shake off a 260 horsepower GR Yaris, which has posted plenty of sub 13s times in the dry conditions on this very channel.

Sorry But so far all your Mach-e vids have shown that you guy know nothing about these cars other than stats. The Mach-e GT will ONLY deliver one good drag run as due to the current battery design and current battery cooling systems Ford found that they get very, very hot so to save the battery from severe harm and damage once at temperature the car will limit the power delivered and it takes a long time to get them cool enough to drag again, hence all challenges after race one you in had less available power in the Mach-e and why you said it runs out of puff, you were simply not getting the power needed from the batteries after your first run. I understand that Mustang at Ford are still working on improving this. The one off Shelby they put a huge scoop on the hood to force cool air onto the battery housing to help with this issue. All battery makers are also working on batteries mixed etc that do not get so hot when drag racing etc and increase performance as a battery in general but the cooling issue is for performance cars and it will be interesting to see if Fords solid state Sodium Battery has the same issues, if they ever come out, rumour is that they are going into the new Puma EV.

Two things we can take from this: Either Ford are artificially nerfing the Mach e as not to embarras their Mustang GTs OR just goes to show how much further ahead Tesla is in battery, power management and motor tech. The answer is probably a bit of both!

It may not be a Mustang, but it's a pretty sweet EV. I'm over the name. I bought one. It's parked next to a 2020 GT/CS. And if I'm honest, it's way more fun for playing around town on the local roads than the gas GT. Less so on the highway. At first I missed the engine noise, but now I just think it's hilarious to smoke a Corvette from stoplight to stoplight in a CROSSOVER SUV without making a sound leaving them wondering wtf just happened.
