The Lamborghini Urus & Tesla Model 3 Performance can reportedly run the quarter-mile in the same time… So naturally, we had to put them to the test!
Mat’s got his hands on the Tesla, and he’s going head-to-head with Yianni’s Urus! The question is, which will come out on top?
On paper, you’d think the Urus would walk it. With a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, it can put down 650hp & 850Nm of torque! Sure, it’s pretty heavy at 2,200kg, but when you’ve got that much power you’re guaranteed to go flying.
In comparison, the Model 3’s two electric motors can only produce 490hp & 660Nm. However, not only is it lighter, at 1,850kg, but we know the power will be put down instantly!
But there’s one thing we need to know… Should you spend £260,000 on the Urus when you could pick up a Model 3 for £60,000?! There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

If he wants to quit while he's not too far down, that's his right. Now, if Matt had just barely won the first race after Yanni had come all the way back after a terrible launch, it would have been very bad form to refuse Yanni a rematch, or double or nothing...

What state of charge was the Tesla? Below 90% SOC the Tesla won’t perform as well. I did 0-60 mph in 3.23 seconds without rollout and the 1/4 mile in 11.43 seconds @ 117+ mph with 97% SOC last week in my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance. I wish CarWow would test a Tesla with a nearly full battery for once and show the real potential of that car.

Bruh u had to pre heat the battery before every run. Be in perfect conditions. Use lighter tires. Be at 98% or better charge. Too get an 11.5 quarter mile. The 11.2 u got was on a downward -1.07% slope . Thats not legit. Stop lying under every video that it can do 11.2 sec. Plus ur on a REAL TRACK SURFACE WITH BETTER GRIP. On a street in real life ur getting a 11.7 or wose everytime.

@@G82Watts none of what you said is true. You can get max power at 90% or better. Traction is irrelevant for the Model 3. I ran 11.2s on all season tires and the results are on Dragy. If the slope was greater than .99% then you couldn’t upload the results. All of my results are on Dragy. As long as you don’t put it in Track Mode you can easily do 11.5s or better. Track Mode is what destroys the performance of the car.

@@LearningFast bra u don't run 11.2s in real life, real world. U run 11.5s on a track grippy surface. Ur draggy proved everything u were on a mega slope for ur 11.2 time as u shown . The proof is in what u said. U had to pre heat ur battery before every run. Real world as shown in many reviews is 11.6 or higher. 11.6 is generous I personally have only seen 11.8 or higher on street surfaces. A bmw M car or AMG is still dusting ur ass. Also the bmw i4 is faster. Via carwow and "Wheels Plus tesla vs 2023 i4" i4 11.5 @120mph m3p 11.6@113mph . Also check out MKHBD channel he just traded his plaid for a porsche. That says everything u need to know about the difference in enjoyment between real sports cars and teslas. Dude that's a complete tech nerd got rid of the plaid for a porsche. 😂 If u can afford better u get better I've always said that. My '19 M3P does the quarter mile in 11.55@117mph when at above 95% SOC. Maybe the SOC is always low on carwow tests since they are always 11.8 🤷‍♂️

Agreed. My best 1/4 mile pass in my ‘22 M3P is 11.43 @ 117mph at 88% SOC. The battery temp is the most important factor as I had preconditioned the battery to get some heat into it (cell temp was 44C). My 0-60 mph time was 3.20 on that pass without rollout (3.01 with 1-ft rollout) . Matt may have faired better if he had done a 2nd run since the battery would have been warmer. I know that he’s tested in track mode before, which increases the battery cooling and temp, thus reducing acceleration performance. It’s logical for a non-Tesla enthusiast to think that track mode = faster acceleration.

I feel like that electric cars should have a high state of charge ( above 80%) before starting the races to give the most accurate outcome because some electric cars lose power when charge reduces ex: a tesla model 3 power drops after 70%
