It appears to be a callback to the strip on the old Daytonas, like what they did on the new 12cilindri. Here’s the thing though - I never liked the look of the Daytonas with that strip on them. It just looks out of place and unnecessary. I much prefer a clean, elegant front end. In my opinion the designers must have thought the front end wasn’t very special, so they just threw something on there because they thought the base design wasn’t pretty enough.

The F80 has grown on me a lot. I hated this car when I first saw it. I studied Automotive design for my BA and one of my professors worked on the Laferrari design and would tease us about it because the car had not come out yet. The F80 is sort of like no other car. It has 4WD, 1200hp and more downforce than a Senna GTR. The F80 is 300kg heavier than the Senna, but the it has around 400hp more being a hybrid and is street legal while the senna is not. I think we are looking at a car that is going to be faster than a Senna GTR on track (with the right tires) and can be driven home in comfort. That is pretty amazing.

@@TC-lk2ev Meh, I think they are approaching the limits of the tires as a road car. Total downforce 1000kg at 155 mile/hr is pretty crazy. So the idea is to have as much downforce at as low speed as possible. but the car also needs to scrub or maintain downforce after it stats going beyond a certain speed. I think the valcery does 1000kg of downforce at 135 mph, but this is under breaking and this car doesn't have awd. So in conclusion the F80 might be a bit faster. Awd cost a lot of weight but with a good amount of front downforce it can be faster.

That's a myth. Pininfarina lost their appeal before their split with Ferrari and were more interested in making designs for non car related things. The F12 TDF (not the Berlinetta), 812 Superfast, 812 Competizione, 488 Pista and F8 Tributo look fine without Pininfarina 's input. Pininfarina's latest cars, the Battista looks ironically like Ferrari's SF90 and their B95 looks like a generic concept car. The sad fact is neither Ferrari or Pininfarina are able to capture their magic designs of the past.

This little engine (given that all of you complains about the displacement of a engine) produces next to 800 hp and combined with the two electric motors MGU-H and MGU-K surpass 1000 hp that I think it’s way more powerfull and reliable than your Honda NSX bigger engine, and just for saying it revs up to 13000 rpm, the NSX maybe arrives to 5000. So before saying bullshit please understand what you’re seeing and don’t be stupid. Ah and the F80 engine has won le mans 24h twice with the ferrarj 499P either. For the design, i invite all of the pepole down there criticing it and saying “oh Hyundai with some sort of body kit on ecc” and simplifing an excellent work on such a great car in terms of aereo dinamycs and car designes, to take some serious visit by your opthalmologist. I'm sure that to drive it will be brilliant, but I too am dissapointed. Why put a V12 in an SUV but a V6 in your flagship hypercar. What is with it's design? Why is it so heavy? However, I (like I said before in this comment) am sure it will be brilliant to drive for the following reasons: 1. The Porsche 918 was, on paper the worst. It was the least dramatic to look at, the least powerful and had the least power to weight. And it was, arguably, the best. It was just as quick to accelerate as the Ferrari and quicker than the Mclaren. It was also over a second a lap quicker than the Mclaren and nearly half a second a lap quicker than the Ferrari of the Algarve racetrack (this is coming from a person who has bias to Ferrari). 2. The Laferrari was "only" as fast as the Enzo, and there were also plenty of cars back then that were much faster than the Mclaren and Ferrari (217 mp/h) an the Porsche ("only" 213 m/ph). The Lamborghini Aventador was less than half the price of the Porsche, and had 691 horsepower, and was still as fast. 3. Ferrari have the backing of an F1 team and a WEC team. 4. Ferrari's road cars are usually the best to drive, even when on paper they are not always the best.

This Ferrari looks SEXY AF…. On looks I would absolutely take the F80 over the W1, and the AWD just makes sense at these HP levels, so that’s another miss for Mclaren IMO. And I must say that a 900 HP/850 TQ 3 liter V6 is an absolutely MIND BOGGLING engineering achievement. I am not into electric motors on the axles, but it’s on keeping with their motorsport derivative so I see what they were going for. The electric motors on the turbos to eliminate lag is very welcome. I say it’s a home run except for the sound, and as usual every single one is already sold. I personally think the W1 looks “Meh” , and I would absolutely take the P1 over it as far as looks go.

Looks like we're alone in that opinion. To me, this moves Ferrari and supercar design forward. You won't see another car with this design anytime soon. That's what Ferrari is supposed to do and hasn't been doing. Everybody can hate me, but I think the La Ferrari looks goofy AF. The engine seems silly though like why not having something exciting instead they water down the power density. Ferrari F50 is my favorite car so I'm not a hater, this just seems gimmicky besides the looks. If you aren't doing a proper V12, at least make it rev to 11,000 or something. The McLaren isn't bad looking but kinda looks too close to a kit car or ultimate shape of the existing McLarens that ALL look so similar it's ridiculous. However it moves the ball with its capabilities and features like the aero extender or whatever.
