@cornprices17185 жыл бұрын
@MSRTV they weigh probably nearly 160 and cut, but muscle is heavier than fat so just saying "muscle" as for why someone is so light doesnt work. you have to say that they're muscular and they cut a decent amount of weight

Hullo Mr. Kolat I have a question for you! When I wrestle I often get a good position on top with an over-under or double under, but as I wrestle only high school level folk style at the moment I don't know any good ways to take them down from this position besides switching to a single, high crotch, or double. I'm not a very tall kid and often times I get my head stuffed when I go for the shots. Is there any practical way I can take them down without going for a leg?
@KOLATCOM8 жыл бұрын
You can work on a lateral drop. Reach for the leg on the undertook side to set it up.This is allowed in folkstyle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXvQmXx_nbCdhq8

+Caleb Inorio He won four Pennsylvania High School state championships and finished undefeated at 137-0, in college he won two NCAA titles and finished 111-7, Bronze and Silver medals at the world championships in '97 and '98 and he wrestled at the 2000 Sydney Olympics where he placed 9th. He beat world champ Mohammed Talei in at the 2000 Olympics and then the match was re-wrestled after protest and he lost the rematch 5-4. Highway robbery in my opinion.

@jimquantic5 жыл бұрын
This guy was a beast. I wrestled in high school, but that was long ago. The move Kolat did is WHY I know longer support the otherwise great sport. The DESIGN of that move is to damage the leg--damage it badly EVEN IF the opponent complies and turns over. Putting my boys in a sport DESIGNED to cause permanent injury is beastly, impressive, yes, but beastly as I see it.
@KOLATCOM5 жыл бұрын
Jmichael Isbell what move did I use is designed to damage the leg exactly?
@jimquantic5 жыл бұрын
@@KOLATCOM I yield to your superior (far superior) knowledge, I must say. But I am referring to what is being discussed at 1:08 which begins something like "....you can see the leverage that Kolat applies with his hips, dragging on that heel". I don''t know the name of that move and I sure do not doubt it's effectiveness. For what it is worth, we were never taught anything of that nature when I was in HS--again, NOT that I was in a super wrestling capitol, no where near it. But honestly Cary, that looks like it could damage the lower leg badly--further, years lager when I took my boys to a state champion school (in CA, Calvary Chapel) they were using far worse in my assessment, scared hell out of me that one of my boys would get a snapped leg at some point. Just seemed wrong, and I do beg your pardon if I am wrong. Second, I am honored you would take the time to answer, you have more than my respect--a powerhouse I have not seen the like of before.

is that leg hold at 0:58 still legal?
@KOLATCOM8 жыл бұрын
+MultiDean98 Yes, it is basically a crotch lift without a lock holding the hip and the ankle. Just be careful not twist the ankle or it could be stopped by the referee. More info here: www.kolat.com/apps/search?q=crotch+lift
