A magnificent wonderful performance Adam Lambert on American Idol 2023. Adam the best Singer Man in the World and love adore him in many countries of the World. Adam can sing anything his unique voice turns any song in own song. Adam always gift surprise for us. Adam enjoyed the atmosphere and the stage American Idol and intrigue and expectation of the new and a sense of joyful nostalgia. I like American Idol and the beautiful romantic song I can't Stand the Rain. Bravo Adam 💖💐💞🌹🎶

For quite a while I used to put the songwriter, and still often do, sometimes along with the person who first recorded the song, or who first had a hit with it. It bugs me when people cite an artist who may be only the latest to cover it, but just the most well-known to a younger generation who doesn't know music history. As I mentioned I usually list the songwriter(s) and the original artist, when being complete, except sometimes an artist is covering a version but a later artist that is somewhat different, and in that case I will cite the songwriter and the original artist, and add "after so-and-so" to reflect the version being covered. Sometimes I just don't bother with all that. PS--I see that I actually did cite Anne Peeble's in my description--I gave the date as 1973.

Too much voice manipulation. Proven when he talks post song. Phony
@fredbloggs6080

I hadn't noticed that before--usually they turn it off when they finish the song. It's fairly mild but it gives the voice that metallic digital edge. They use that on all the contestant performances on singing talent shows most obviously to me on The Voice. It seems variable on American Idol. It is perhaps autotune or similar, and It makes most of the voices sound very similar to each other and unnatural. However Adam Lambert isn't phony because he doesn't need it--in fact he sounds better when it isn't used. Most good singers do. One reason I watch singing shows in the Philippines is because they mostly don't use autotune, except maybe for some dancers or actors who are not singers, although they do use some sort of processing on some of the performances but I don't think it's autotune. I have less of a problem with light reverb and such effects.
