DESCRIPTION
"You won't believe it, but it was like, satan saying to me that it's the right thing to do."
In the early hours of the 18th of November 2011 a fire was deliberately lit at the Quakers Hill Nursing Home. The nursing home housed 89 residents, a lot of whom were highly dependent patients who were immobile, suffering dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

This one was particularly difficult to listen to. I used to investigate allegations of abuse and neglect in nursing homes for the Department of Human Services. There is a special place in Hell for people who injure the elderly, children, or animals. I understand what addiction can do, but there is no excuse for a horror like this. It was nice to hear you read the names of the victims. As long as someone hears their names, they live on in a way.

My God, this was scary to listen to. Just in 2019 I was in the hospital for 4 months, then had to send 6 weeks in a long care facility for rehab, I was not able to move on my own, and thinking about this happening to anyone, made my heart hurt.

Another great video!! My favorite channel. Thanks for keeping it respectful! I like how you follow a timeline, give the right amount of background info, provide the necessary details and the focus is not on your opinion. Your voice is clear and easy to understand despite the accent, however you did speak a little faster than usual in this video. Thank you!! Great job!!

I'm usually not one to be upset over people's deaths, but if there's something I can't stand it's abusing and killing animals, children, elderly and the helpless. So happy this guy rots in jail

" OH WELL, SHAME REALLY ... " - GOODNESS ME ! AS A RETIRED NURSE, I TRULY HAVE TO TAKE EXCEPTION AT THE CASUAL ATTITUDE EXPRESSED BY THIS COMMENT. 11 PEOPLE WHO DIED NEEDLESSLY. THEIR SCREAMS FOR HELP WOULD BE UTTERLY BEYOND ALL COMPREHENSION. EVEN THOSE DIAGNOSED WITH DEMENTIA HAVE LUCID MOMENTS. THEY ARE NOT BRAIN DEAD. MANY, MANY TIMES HAVE I WITNESSED A PATIENT WITH THE SAME DIAGNOSIS SHOW AWARENESS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT AND CHANGES THERE WITHIN. EG: A SUDDEN DEYERIORATION IN THE PERSON IN THE NEXT BED. PERHAPS THE WRITER MIGHT THINK ABOUT HONING THEIR SKILLS OF EMPATHY. CR. SYDNEY. AUST.

What’s interesting is listening to these murderers, after they’ve been caught and they know they can’t deny what they’ve done. Just listening to what they say, thinking that if they say the right thing that maybe they’ll get some sort of leniency. Like they think people are going to believe them when they have no reason to.

For international audiences, "loiting foyers" = "lighting fires" 🤣.

Fair comment that he tried everything to avoid responsibility. His final comments, however, were, I thought, remorseful.

All this loss on account of the selfisness of one man. Totally unnecessary and totally insane.
